Football Bet of the Day: Depay to dazzle for the Dutch

Unless there is a historic capitulation, the Netherlands are set to book their place at the Fifa World Cup finals when they face Lithuania in their final qualifier on Monday (19:45 GMT) in Amsterdam.

De Oranje are top of Group G with 17 points, three more than Poland in second. The Dutch also have a 13-plus better goal difference than them. I am expecting Ronald Koeman's men to wrap up qualifying in style, so this is where my Football Bet of the Day comes from and you can check it out below.

Netherlands vs Lithuania Odds

With five wins from seven qualifiers, the Netherlands are the 1/20 favourites here. They won the reverse fixture 3-2 and backing the Dutch and both teams to score - Yes is priced at 15/8.

BTTS - Yes on its own is on offer at 13/8.

The draw is valued at 12/1, while it's 40/1 for Lithuania to come away with the victory. However, they have lost their past three matches.

But the real value lies in backing a goalscorer in my opinion, and the player I am going for is Memphis Depay. The Netherlands' all-time record goalscorer has been in excellent form during this campaign with eight goals. Only Norway's Erling Haaland (16) has more goals in qualifying than the Dutchman.

He has played a starring role to put De Oranje in this position and the Corinthians striker is building plenty of momentum ahead of the World Cup finals next summer.

I previewed the Netherlands' clash with Poland on Friday and correctly tipped Depay to find the net and in this final fixture I believe he will be determined to finish on a high.

He has the opportunity to join Haaland in hitting double figures, which I believe is a real possibility on Monday night.

The 2/1 price for him to score two or more goals is enticing, particularly because the 31-year-old bagged a brace when the two sides met in September. It was the second time in this qualifying campaign he found the net twice, with the first coming against Malta in June.

Lithuania's World Cup journey has been over for some time and with three defeats on the spin heading into this, their players are unlikely to have no motivation for this contest, so there could be a big opportunity for Depay, who is no doubt wanting to make his goalscoring record as difficult to catch as possible.

I think a massive positive surrounding this pick is the fact that Depay is the Netherlands' first-choice penalty taker and three of his goals have come from the spot in Group G.

I am backing him to finish qualifying in style.
