Football Bet of the Day: Tigers to maul Blackburn

I had three winners last week from my Football Bet of the Day columns, capped off with a stunning 7/1 shot for a 3-0 Barcelona victory over Real Oviedo.
I'm hoping to build on this on Saturday and the game that I have picked is the Championship clash between Blackburn Rovers and Hull City at Ewood Park (15:00 GMT). Check out my selection below as I look to keep up my good form.
Football Bet of the Day - Saturday, January 31
- Match Result - Hull @ 11/5

Blackburn stunned Hull when the two sides met at the MKM Stadium back in August, with Rovers cruising to a 3-0 victory. The hosts are 5/4 to win on this occasion.
Rovers were able to secure a point at home against Watford last weekend and the stalemate is valued at 9/4.
But I think the real value lies in an away victory, with Hull priced at 11/5 to come away with the three points. The Tigers sit fourth in the league table, comfortably nestled inside the play-off positions, while they are also five points behind Middlesbrough who occupy the second automatic promotion spot.
Hull come into this clash in Lancashire off the back of three consecutive victories in the Championship - against Southampton, Preston North End and Swansea City. They also recently took down Boro on Teesside, avenging their 4-1 humiliation by Kim Hellburg's side on home turf in December.
Boss Sergej Jakirovic is a strong contender for manager of the season right now as not many people would have predicted the Tigers being in such a strong position at this stage of the campaign.
He inherited a side that narrowly avoided relegation to League 1 last term and now he has them firmly in the race to return to the Premier League after a nine-year hiatus.
The visitors are coming into this contest with plenty of momentum and they should really fancy themselves against a Blackburn side who have the second-worst home record in the division.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Hull have won three games on the bounce
- The Tigers have won five of their last six away matches
- Hull boast the third-best away record in the division
- Blackburn have the second-worst home record in the Championship
Rovers have won just two of their 14 league appearances at Ewood in 2025/26 and they are currently on a seven-game winless run as they sit inside the relegation zone, one point adrift from safety.
Hull also boast one of the best away records in the second tier, having won seven of their 14 contests to date. The Tigers have picked up 24 points on their travels and only Derby County (27) and Middlesbrough (25) have collected more on the road.
Jakirovic's men come into this latest away day having won five of their previous six in the second tier, which does not bode well for this wailing Blackburn team.
Given the context of the two contrasting forms heading into this clash, the 11/5 (implied probability of 31.3%) price for Hull to win is considered great value.
