Football Bet of the Day: Massive price for away win in UEL

Thursday’s football action sees the conclusion of the league phase of the Europa League, with 18 games in total all kicking off at 20:00 GMT tonight. 

It means there’s plenty to go at for our Football Bet of the Day, and I’ve seen a price that tickles my fancy as we look ahead to the games. 

Lille vs Freiburg Odds

High-flying Freiburg only need a point to guarantee their spot in the top eight of the Europa League, while Lille are likely to need a win to keep hold of a play-off spot. This game should be a thrilling watch, but I just can’t understand why the Germans have been priced as the big outsiders here. 

Freiburg have proven themselves to be one of the best Europa League outfits so far this term, going unbeaten with five wins and two draws. They are just one point off top spot and still have a chance to win the league phase if Lyon and Aston Villa drop points. Although they are very likely to qualify, it isn’t guaranteed, which means Julian Schuster should name another strong XI in this one. 

Freiburg have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six outings, and there’s a real belief that they could do something special in Europe this term. This final fixture provides them with a chance to finish as high as possible and gain a more favourable draw in the last 16, and they will be licking their lips at the prospect of facing Lille in this one.

Fighting to keep their Europa League dreams alive, Lille are looking absolutely atrocious right now. They’ve lost every single game they’ve played in 2026 so far, and are on a run of five straight defeats in all competitions. Liam Rosenior has left Strasbourg but they handed Lille a 4-1 hammering last time out, and confidence looks to be on the floor. 

Last time out in this competition they lost 2-1 to Celta Vigo, despite the fact that the Spaniards were reduced to 10 men after just 29 minutes. Alarm bells are ringing loudly in my head when it comes to Lille, and Bruno Genesio seems to be struggling to turn this sinking ship around. 

They need a win to realistically keep their hopes alive in this competition, and the fact they need to attack, may leave them even more exposed at the back. They’ve lost their last three in a row at home by an aggregate scoreline of 8-2, and the season-ending injury to Hamza Igamane appears to have derailed their season. 

Looking at the recent form, there is only one team to back on Thursday night. Freiburg to beat Lille at 13/5 is our Football Bet of the Day.
