Football Bet of the Day: Wales to win the battle of the Dragons

Eight Uefa World Cup qualification play-off matches are served up on Thursday as we edge closer to the main event across the Atlantic Ocean in the summer. One of the play-offs on offer sees Wales host Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Cardiff City Stadium (19:45 GMT, BBC iPlayer).
The Dragons will look to take full advantage of the tie being on home soil as they bid to reach successive Fifa World Cup finals. Check out my Football Bet of the Day below which comes from this fixture.

Wales vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Odds
Wales were second in their qualifying group and picked up five wins from their eight fixtures. They are 9/10 to win this tie inside 90 minutes.
Bosnia are 3/1 to triumph in regulation time in Cardiff, and they too saw the same winning return in their qualifying group.
The previous two meetings in Wales have ended level and the draw on Thursday is on offer at 12/5.
There is optimism around the whole of Wales that the Dragons can get past Bosnia to secure their place in the final of this particular play-off path. A victory on Thursday would see them face the winner of the tie between Italy and Northern Ireland but they will cross that bridge once they get to it.
For now, all they can do is focus on Bosnia. Given how they performed in qualifying, Wales should fancy their chances on home soil to get the job done. The crowd will be fired up for this match just as much as the players, and this can be pivotal in helping Craig Bellamy's side over the line.
I sense there will be goals on offer in Cardiff and so my Bet of the Day is Wales to win and over 2.5 goals. As mentioned earlier, the Dragons did look strong in Group J as they posted five wins from eight games. Three of those victories came on home soil, so this tie being in Cardiff could prove to be all the difference for them on Thursday.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Wales have won 5 of their last 7 competitive home games
- Over 2.5 goals has struck in 5 of the Dragons' past six home matches in all competitions
- Bosnia have won just 3 of their last 10 away games
Over 2.5 goals is worth adding, in my opinion, because five of Wales' last six competitive home games have seen at least three goals scored. They have managed to score three goals themselves in four of them. Bellamy's men even managed seven in their most recent home appearance against North Macedonia back in November.
Like Wales, it seems Bosnia's strength mostly comes when they are playing at home, so they will have been disappointed to have been drawn as the away side here. The Dragons, as they are also nicknamed, have won just three of their previous 10 road trips which does not bode well for their adventure to the Welsh capital on Thursday night.
I am anticipating another memorable night in the history of Welsh football and this 2/1 price offer excellent value to punters.
