Football bet of the day

There is a lot of excitement knocking around at this stage of the season, as clubs from up and down the country tussle it out for promotion or relegation.

However, for Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day, I’m hoping for a dull affair between two teams who look likely to be playing second tier football next term. Check out my Football Bet of the Day down below.

Stoke vs Blackburn Odds

Stoke City have plummeted down the Championship table in 2026. After a wonderful start to the season saw them sitting second in October, they have picked up just 20 points from their 17 matches in 2026, leaving them 13th in the Championship.

Mark Robins is coming under scrutiny at the Potters, and the experienced manager tore into his players after a poor display in the defeat to Derby last time out.  “Even if you get beaten, you can get beaten in a way that you’ve gone down fighting and that just wasn’t one of those performances, so that was a performance that tells me that one or two of them aren’t bothered about being here.

“I went over afterwards knowing there weren’t going to be flowers thrown. If you get criticised and you don’t like it, suck it up, get on with it and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Football Bet of the Day Stats

  • Stoke failed to register a shot on target against Derby
  • Blackburn have kept three clean sheets in a row

Stoke didn’t manage a single shot on target in that defeat, and given how Blackburn Rovers have been setting up recently, I think we are in for a low-scoring game on Saturday.

Michael O'Neill may have failed to take Northern Ireland to the World Cup, but he is slowly guiding Rovers away from danger with a string of strong defensive performances.

They’ve now picked up five points from their last three games, keeping three clean sheets in a row in the process, and that has taken them six points clear of danger. The last time they conceded more than once in a single game was at the end of February against Derby and so I think they can keep things tight against a misfiring Stoke side.

Decent price for under 1.5 goals, which is our Football Bet of the Day for Saturday.
