Football Bet of the Day: Motherwell’s main man to deliver the goods

Motherwell continue their pursuit of a top-three finish in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday as they travel to Dens Park to take on Dundee (19:45 GMT). The visitors have won five of their last six fixtures in the top flight and they will look to continue their good form against the side ranked 10th in the table.

Dundee vs Motherwell Odds

Dundee are without a win in their previous three league appearances and they are 11/4 to defeat Motherwell. Their latest outing was a draw against St Mirren and the stalemate is valued at 12/5.

Motherwell are the 1/1 favourites to come away with the three points to make it three wins on the bounce.

But I think greater value can be found in the goalscorer markets, and how can I look past the Well's main man this season, Tawana Maswanhise. The winger is the top scorer in the division with 13 goals, having been a revelation this campaign.

The Zimbabwe international has been one of the standout players in the Scottish Premiership this season and his contributions have massively helped Motherwell get into a position to push for a place in the top three.

The Steelmen finished last season with 49 points in Group B, and they are six points shy of matching that tally with 14 games left to play. With five wins from six matches, Motherwell should fancy themselves to put another three points on the board here.

Of course, they will turn to Maswanhise for inspiration because of his performances so far, and the 23-year-old should be brimming with confidence coming into Wednesday's clash.

Maswanhise is on a roll right now as he has found the net in four consecutive league games, scoring five in the process. This is his best scoring streak of the season and I do believe this spells trouble for Dundee.

The hosts know all too well of the quality Maswanhise possesses, with the Well wide man scoring against them inside this stadium in September's 1-1 draw. He missed the home game against the Dee in December because of the Africa Cup of Nations, but he is primed to wreak havoc on their defence at Dens Park for the second time in 2025/26.

I can imagine Motherwell were braced for bids for their star man in the winter transfer window but he remains one of their own and this will be massive for their ambitions in the final months of the campaign.
