Football Bet of the Day: Porto to showcase their firepower

Thanks to Hull City's new signing Lewis Koumas, my hot streak for Football Bet of the Day columns continued on Saturday. I am hoping to start the new week strongly and deliver more success on Monday, with several games to choose from across Europe.
The selection I have chosen takes us to Portugal, as Casa Pia host Primeira Liga leaders Porto in Rio Maior (20:45 GMT).
Football Bet of the Day - Monday, February 2
- Handicap -2 - Porto -2 @ 21/10
*Odds correct at time of publication
Casa Pia are only two points above the relegation zone, having won just three of their 19 fixtures in the league. They are 11/1 to stun the front-runners, who are yet to be beaten.
The hosts have picked up five draws on home soil and the stalemate is marketed at 4/1.
Porto are the heavy favourites at 1/4 as they have won 18 of their 19 fixtures to date, including each of their previous 11 outings.
This isn't the ideal market but the basis of a Porto victory is the way to go on Monday night, in my opinion.
The Dragons have been outstanding in the league so far and given the gap between these two sides in the table, the leaders will be expected to win this contest pretty comfortably. In that case, I think covering Porto with a -2 handicap at 21/10 is an attractive selection for this fixture.
Porto have not struggled for goals this season, having recorded 40 in 19 appearances so far, meaning they are averaging 2.1 per game this season. For a -2 handicap bet, Casa Pia will start the game with a hypothetical two-goal lead, so Porto would need to win by a three-goal margin for the bet to be declared a winner.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Porto have won by a 3-goal margin in six of their 19 league games
- 2 have come in their past five appearances
- Porto beat Casa Pia at home 4-0 back in August
This selection has landed in six of Porto's league games this season and two of them have come from their past five outings in the top flight. Three of these victories have come on their travels, while the Dragons also won with a -2 handicap when they hosted Casa Pia at the Dragao back in August.
Francesco Farioli's men posted a comfortable 4-0 victory on that day, and things haven't exactly been getting any better for Casa Pia ahead of the rematch.
The home team have failed to score in two of their last four league matches, while Porto have struck three goals in both of their recent fixtures across all competitions coming into Monday's clash.
Casa Pia have managed just 20 goals in 19 league outings this term and Porto have only been breached on four occasions in the same amount of games.
I predict that the Dragons will be the only team to score here, and I think they will be able to demonstrate their firepower and defeat their opponents comfortably for the second time in 2025/26.
