Football bet of the day: In-form Ravens can enjoy Priestfield trip

There is not as much of a feast of EFL action on Thursday as there was on New Year's Day but the standout bet comes in League Two with Gillingham up against Bromley. Newport County take on AFC Wimbledon in the other League Two encounter, while there is a full card of Scottish Premiership action with Rangers taking on Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
Outside of the UK, meanwhile, the Italian Super Cup gets underway with a semi-final battle between Inter Milan and Atalanta taking place at the Al-Awwal Park in Saudi Arabia.

A new year often brings with it new opportunities and two teams looking up in League Two clash when Gillingham welcome Bromley to Priestfield on Thursday.
These sides finished 2024 just one point apart in the League Two standings and have every chance of pushing for the play-offs if they can string together a good run.
And out of the two sides, it is Bromley who are in the ascendancy at the moment, having forged a nine-game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
The Ravens, who are playing in their first ever season in the EFL, have not lost a league fixture since a 2-1 defeat to Tranmere Rovers back in October and look to be in high spirits.
They signed off 2024 with seven points from a possible nine in their final three games and a 5-2 thrashing of Newport County was their highlight of the month.
Key to their impressive run has been the goals of striker Michael Cheek, who has taken his League Two tally to 12 goals in 21 appearances, and they could be too strong for the Gills.
Gillingham finished 2024 on a three-match winless run, losing their last two matches without scoring - against Colchester and Wimbledon.
With that in mind, Bromley make an appeal in the draw-no-bet market, where stakes are returned if the game finishes level.
Home advantage is clearly a factor in how this game has been priced up with Gillingham 6/4 shots to win in 90 minutes.
There is logic to that price given that six of Gillingham's nine league wins this term have come at Priestfield but Bromley's form should not be ignored and they are an enticing price at 9/5.
It is also worth noting that Gillingham go into this game having lost midfielder George Lapslie to Bradford City officially on New Year's Day, while Oli Hawkins has been sidelined by injury since October.
One factor which may put off some punters backing a Bromley win in this contest is the fact they have racked up 10 draws in League Two this season - hence the draw-no-bet approach is recommended.
For punters anticipating a draw in this match, however, the stalemate can be backed at 12/5.
