Football Bet of the Day: Spaniards to deliver

Real Madrid began the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup as favourites but have drifted in the market despite topping Group H, due partly to a tough draw in the round of 16 against Juventus. The Old Lad may have suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Manchester City last time out, but they are a stronger test than many at the last 16 stage.
This game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida (20:00 BST, DAZN/Betfred), features in my Football Bet of the Day for Tuesday, July 1, which you can check out below.
Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, July 1
- Real Madrid to win and both teams to score @ 11/5
*odds correct at time of publication
Real Madrid spent heavily before this year’s Club World Cup, bringing in Xabi Alonso as new manager, along with defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen.
The pressure is on them to put a poor campaign behind them and win this competition as a result. Standing in their way at the round of 16 stage are Juventus, who also disappointed domestically, finishing fourth in Serie A.
The Old Lady were seen off 5-2 by Manchester City in their last group game, struggling to deal with the attacking intensity of the Premier League side, and they may suffer the same fate against Los Blancos.
Real Madrid are favourites at 4/6 to register the win, while Juventus are available at 9/2, with the draw at 3/1.
Over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/11, with the unders at 11/10, while both teams finding the back of the net is 8/11, with at least one clean sheet priced at 11/10.
Even without star man Kylian Mbappe, who has been missing through illness but could return here, Madrid have been impressive and could simply outscore their opponents.
The La Liga side began with a 1-1 draw with Saudi side Al Hilal and looked set for more disappointment before bouncing back from going down to ten men after seven minutes against Pachuca to win 3-1.
They then followed that with a comfortable 3-0 win over Red Bull Salzburg to confirm their group victory.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Real Madrid have won five of their last six games
- Juventus have scored 11 and conceded six goals in their three Club World Cup matches
Youngster Gonzalo Garcia has stepped up with two goals and an assist, while Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham remain a persistent threat.
Alonso’s men have won five of their last six games and could prove too strong for this Juventus outfit, who have been solid if unspectacular under new boss Igor Tudor.
They netted 11 goals in the group stages, but there must be plenty of concern about the ease with which they were beaten by Manchester City after racking up the score against Wydad AC and Al Ain.
Juve could get on the scoresheet in this clash, but they look likely to be outmatched by such a star-studded Real Madrid side, particularly if Mbappe is fit to feature.
