Football bet of the day

We’ve got loads of football action to get stuck into this weekend, despite the international break bringing a halt to the Premier League and the Championship in England.

However, we are dropping down to League 1 in search of some value for Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day.

Football Bet Of The Day - Saturday, September 6

  • Stockport to beat Plymouth @ 13/10

Today's Football Fixtures

Plymouth Argyle have endured a rocky start to the League 1 campaign under Tom Cleverley, but they found some relief in midweek as they overcame lowly Cheltenham Town in the EFL Trophy. That will have potentially given the squad some confidence, but I just don’t see them kicking on here.

They’ve been really poor so far this season losing five and winning just one league game, conceding 13 goals in those six matches. Defensively they have been all over the place, there is anger at the board, and the team have fallen apart on the pitch since Miron Muslic left the club.

All is not well then at Home Park, and they welcome the team that is the most put together in League 1 in my opinion. Stockport County have been absolutely flying over the last few years under Dave Challinor and although they’ve been hit and miss so far this term, picking up 11 points from their six games, I do think they are a far stronger team than Plymouth right now.

Football Bet Of The Day Stats

  • Chelsea have won six WSL titles in a row
  • They beat Man City four times in all competitions last term

This is a team that should have probably got promoted last season as they lost in the play-off semi-finals on penalties to Leyton Orient. They’ve only lost once this term, at home to Bradford City, and I expect the Hatters to surge up the table over the coming months - with pre-season favourites Luton Town just one point above them.

Plymouth vs Stockport Odds

This game then, sees a horrendously out of form team host one of the best in the league, so it makes sense to back County to come away with all three points. Challinor is a fantastic manager, Malik Mothersille, Oliver Norwood and Jack Diamond need to step up to the plate, and show their quality, while it might just take a little bit of time for them to string results together after a slight summer of change.

All in all, Argyle are in a sorry state right now and confidence is on the floor. If they concede first, the crowd will get on their backs and I can’t see it ending well for the home side.
