Football Bet of the Day: 7/1 Correct Score pick for La Liga battle

Celta Vigo will be seeking to make it three wins on the spin when they welcome relegation-threatened Las Palmas to Estadio de Balaidos on Monday night (20:00, live on Premier Sports 1) 

My Football Bet of the Day will focus on this clash from La Liga, and you can find my reasoning below.

Celta Vigo vs Las Palmas Odds

Celta Vigo will bring a six-game unbeaten run into Monday's contest, recording four wins during this period over the likes of Leganes and Real Valladolid.

Claudio Giraldez's side are well-positioned to make a push for Europe this season, boasting a record of 11 wins, six draws and 11 defeats from their 28 league matches which leaves them in eighth place.

The hosts haven't finished in the top six since the 2015/16 season, but their home form could make that a reality as they've tallied up 29 points from 14 league matches in front of their fans.

They've tasted success against Las Palmas in the last two meetings with Monday's visitors, who are now staring relegation from La Liga firmly in the face.

Football Odds

Diego Martinez's side are without a win since December, and they're on a 10-game winless run, which I don't see ending on Monday.

Las Palmas are 19th in the table, two points behind 17th-placed Alaves, and they've had plenty of defensive issues this season which could be a cause for concern. Pio Pio have conceded 47 times in their 28 matches, which is the second-worst defensive record behind Real Valladolid.

However, I believe they can strike on the road on Monday night - the Canarian club have scored in 10 of their 14 away trips, although rarely more than once at a time.

Celta Vigo haven't been squeaky-clean at home, only keeping four clean sheets in 14 matches, and backing a 2-1 win - the same scoreline from Celta's win over Leganes - looks to be the best bet for me.

Celta have scored exactly two goals in four of their last seven home games, and Las Palmas can get on the scoresheet on the road, as both teams have scored in four of their last five away La Liga matches.
