Football Bet of the Day: Keen on Kean in Serie A

We don’t have too many options to choose from for our Football Bet of the Day for Monday, January 13, but I still believe we have found some value, this time from Serie A. Bottom club Monza host Champions League chaser Fiorentina, so let’s dive into this fixture for our Football Bet of the Day.
Football Bet of the Day - Monday, January 13
- Moise Kean to score anytime vs Monza @ 8/5
Monza have lost their last five games by a scoreline of 2-1, and they sit bottom of Italy’s top flight. They have recently made a change in the dugout, as they made the decision to sack Alessandro Nesta just before Christmas and replace him with Salvatore Bocchetti, who is yet to win a game in charge.
The home side are still waiting for their first win of the season at the Brianteo Stadium and have lost their last five games on the trot 2-1, it feels like they are up against it once again as they welcome Fiorentina on Monday night. Added to that, two red cards in Bocchetti’s first two matches in charge has meant he has faced an uphill battle from the first moment he came in the door.
It also means that Danilo D'Ambrosio is suspended for this match and while former Arsenal man Pablo Mari should return in defence, I think the home team could struggle again. The Viola are not in the best of form either having failed to win their last five matches, but they do possess a star striker who can’t stop scoring, and that’s where our focus lies for the Football Bet of the Day.
Former Juventus striker Moise Kean, who also has the likes of PSG and Everton on his CV, joined Fiorentina on a permanent deal this summer for just £13m, and he has already shown his quality. Kean has 11 goals in 18 Serie A matches so far this season, with 15 goals to his name in all competitions.
He’s scored two goals in his last three games, and up against a weak Monza backline that have leaked goals all season, he should be able to find the net. They’ve conceded 27 goals already this season and haven’t kept a clean sheet since October 21, when they secured a surprise 3-0 away win against Verona.
I just don’t think this defence, especially without one of their key centre-backs, will be able to deal with the pace, power and goalscoring ability of Kean. He has proven himself to be a top striker in the league this season, and will be licking his lips at the prospect of coming up against the worst side in Italy’s top flight this term.
Monza could find life tough again on Monday night, so I’ll back Kean - who scored 13 goals in 26 games for PSG let’s not forget - to find the net once more here.
