Football Bet of the Day: No separating Serie A pair
Serie A is the focus for our football bet of the day on Friday as draw specialists Bologna and Torino meet at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.
Football Bet of the Day - Friday, February 14
- Bologna vs Torino - Draw @ 12/5
Valentine's Day is about sharing things with the one you love and, although there may not necessarily be much love in the air when Bologna and Torino lock horns, they could well end up sharing the points.
Bologna have recovered from a slow start to the season that can be explained away by the summer departure of former head coach Thiago Motta and learning to juggle the rigours of both domestic and European football.
Motta's successor, Vincenzo Italiano, has now firmly settled into the role and that has been reflected by an ongoing nine-match unbeaten run across all competitions since the turn of the year.
The Rossoblu have actually only lost one of their last 16 matches all told and they are six unbeaten in Serie A, although four of those have ended all-square.
Draws have been a familiar outcome for Italiano's side all season - only Juventus, ironically under Motta - have shared the spoils in more matches in the Italian top-flight (13) than Bologna's total of 11.
Third on that list is Torino, who have drawn 10 times to date, a figure that has been boosted by six shares across their last seven league games.
Torino have also drawn four of their five road fixtures since the start of December, including in their last two away games against European hopefuls Fiorentina and title-chasing Atalanta.
Paolo Vanoli's side have also secured a point away at AC Milan and held Juve on home soil in the Derby della Mole this season to further underline their hard-to-beat record.
These two sides are unbeaten in 13 Serie A matches combined - six for Bologna and seven for Torino - but with 10 of those ending all-square, another stalemate could be on the cards on Friday.
Bologna did win 2-0 when the two sides met in December's reverse fixture in Turin, although both of their goals, from Tommaso Pobega and Thijs Dallinga, came in the final 20 minutes of an otherwise close contest.
Last season's meeting in Turin ended 0-0, while they also shared the spoils at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara as recently as March 2022, a contest that also finished goalless.
While neutrals will hope for more goals on Friday, it is difficult to see this finishing in anything other than a draw, a result that would keep Torino firmly in mid-table and perhaps dent Bologna's European prospects, although a point would move them up to seventh in the standings, above AC Milan.
