Football Bet of the Day: Friday’s value comes from South America

With the international fixtures done and dusted, and the Club World Cup yet to begin, we’ve had to scour the globe for Friday’s Football Bet of the Day.
Don’t fret though, I’ve come up with something that I hope you will be interested in.
Football Bet of the Day - Friday, June 13
- Club Tacuary to beat Deportivo Santani @ 11/8

Deportivo Santani vs Club Tacuary Odds
The Paraguayan second tier is where our attention is drawn to this Friday as Club Tacuary travel to face Deportivo Santani at the Estadio Juan Jose Vazquez (19:30 BST). If you’ve not been glued to Division Intermedia like I have (honestly), then don’t worry, I’ll give you the run down on how these two teams have fared so far this term.
We are only 12 games into the new campaign but already it is looking like a strong campaign for Club Tacuary. Manager Enrique Vera has managed to stop the rot after they were relegated from the Primera Division based on their three-season average points tally, and has got them up to third in the second tier, just one point off the top of the table.
Their relegation hangover hasn’t lasted long and given the top two will return to the top flight, Tacuary will want to make that happen at the first time of asking. They’ve currently won six, drawn three and lost three of their league matches so far, and they are competing with 12 de Junio de Villa Hayes and Club Deportivo Capiata for the title.
They’ve got the third-best away record this season, albeit over a short five-game sample, while Friday’s opponents Deportivo Santani haven’t been in the best nick. The home side have only won once in their last five outings and sit 13th out of 16, having picked up just 13 points from 12 games this term.
Football Bet of the Day Stats
- Tacuary got relegated from the top flight last term and sit third
- Deportivo Santani have only scored 11 goals in 12 games
Unlike Tacuary, they certainly won’t be contesting for promotion this season, and so there’s reason to believe the Pumas can make their quality show on the pitch on Friday. Deportivo Santani have also had real trouble in front of goal this term, scoring just 11 goals in those 12 league fixtures - while Tacuary have conceded just 13.
That leads me to believe this will be a tight game in which both teams prioritise trying to keep a clean sheet. However, looking at the quality on show, you have to lean in favour of Tacuary, especially when you take into account Santani’s failure to score goals on a consistent basis.
I’m happy to back an away win in this case, and back the side with more pedigree and financial might to come out on top at a decent price.
