St Mirren beat Kilmarnock
Our first of three away wins on Thursday’s accumulator comes from Rugby Park, where we pick St Mirren to ramp up the pressure on Kilmarnock. The visitors have won three of their last four, including a hard-fought 2-1 over Rangers on Boxing Day. St Mirren hold a position in the top-six and look more than capable of holding their ground. The Buddies can prove their worth with a valuable win at Rugby Park.
Kilmarnock start 2025 stuck down in ninth, and they’re dangerously close to the relegation zone. Just four points separates Hearts in 11th and Killie ahead of game 21. The hosts lost 1-0 at Easter Road last time, and we’re hoping St Mirren show their class by taking all three points back to Paisley.
Celtic beat Rangers
Moving to the pick of Thursday’s games, we’re at Ibrox for the third Old Firm derby of the season and second in the Scottish Premiership. Rangers hold the home advantage in Govan but have lost twice to Celtic already this term, suffering a 3-0 defeat at Parkhead in the Premiership and a 5-4 loss on penalties in the League Cup final at Hampden.
Rangers enter on the back of a loss and a draw, fighting back from 2-0 down to rescue a point at Fir Park on Sunday. Celtic remain unbeaten in the league, winning 16 and drawing two. The Bhoys have scored 52 goals and conceded only four compared to the 31 for and 13 against of Rangers. The stats push us towards a strong away win for the league leaders.
Hibs beat St Johnstone
The third and final pick from our New Year’s away win treble is a rejuvenated Hibs to beat struggling St Johnstone in Perth. The Hibees entered a frantic festive period at the bottom of the league, looking low on ideas. But the team from Easter Road have won each of their previous four games and five of six. They’re now seventh, and victory could move them into the top six.
St Johnstone are rock bottom of the table, with their season stats reading four wins against two draws and 14 defeats with only 22 goals scored and a stunning 40 conceded. The Saints have lost their last four, and we’re happy to oppose them until they show us better. Back Hibs to continue their good form and head back to Edinburgh full of festive cheer.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
