Jamie Pacheco didn't manage to build on profits last week but we're still carrying plenty of money in the kitty, which can only be a good thing.

A high number of Barcelona corners, a Braga goal and over 2.5 of those in Inter's game with Bologna will do us just fine this week, as we look to get back to winning ways as we look at our Football Accumulator Tips for this weekend with our Cross-European Treble...

Football Accumulator Tips - Cross-European Treble

  • Estoril v Braga - Back over 0.5 away goals @ 1/5
  • Barcelona v Celta Vigo – Back Over 6.5 Home corners @ 10/11
  • Bologna v Inter – Back Over 2.5 Goals @ 11/10
  • Treble Odds @ 3.81/1

Welcome to the 3-3-3 betting column. Why is it called that? Glad you asked.  It's not a formation to play when you've had a man sent off but rather:

3 - The number of different selections making up the acca.

3 - The number of different (non-English) European Leagues the selections are taken from every week.

3 - The minimum odds (3/1) or 4.0 if you prefer, that the acca will come to it every week.

And it really is as simple as that. The selections can be from any betting markets, as long as they meet the criteria set out above.  And to round things off, every week I'll leave you with a cool (or at least I think so) bit of trivia involving one of the teams featured in the acca. Simples...

Current P and L: +13.254 pts

No joy last week and no real close misses so not worth going over it all over again just for the sake of it. Let's instead focus on what's coming up this week.

Barcelona v Celta Vigo

Saturday April 19 15:15

Selection: Back over 6.5 Home Corners @ 10/11

Celta Vigo and their low corner count were our one winner last week and the betting markets remain convinced that if you go and watch a Celta match, corners are a pretty unlikely occurrence. And that's fair enough with just 13% of their away matches reaching the 10-corner mark away from home.

All well and good but then again, they don't play the mighty Barcelona away every week. Over their last four home matches, the Blaugrana have managed 12, 8, 10 and 9 corners respectively, so even though Celta give away far less than most when away from home, I think we should get at least over 6.5 home corners at 10/11.

Estoril Praia v Braga

Saturday April 19 18:00

Selection: Back Over 0.5 Away Goals @ 1/5

Our other two selections already come to over the 3/1 mark between them but as usual, we need to keep to the rules of having at least three selections from three different markets in three different leagues. Not to mention, any additional selection will beef up our column odds just that little bit further, and we're going with a conservative one.

Estoril put in a pretty insipid performance at Famalicao last week losing 3-0 and it was a reminder that despite good improvements upfront, they're still pretty vulnerable at the back. It's just one clean sheet in 10 for them now, Braga are always a dangerous side and this one finished 2-2 earlier on in the season. So it really shouldn't be too much to ask that Braga get at least one here, albeit at just 1/5.

Bologna v Internazionale

Sunday April 20 17:00

Selection: Back Over 2.5 Goals in @ 11/10

The key strategy during the three-in-a-row winning run of the 3-3-3 column last month was to have an odds-against shot that we really liked. If that one came in, especially if we felt it was a good value selection that should be shorter, we'd then have plenty of manoeuvre as regards picking the other two bets.

It's a tactic we're going to revert to this weekend with Bologna v Inter where over 2.5 goals is available at 11/10. As it happens, Bologna's stats for home matches going over 2.5 goals this season aren't hugely impressive at an even-stevens 50%.

But we note that 4 out of the last 5 have gone that way, as have 55% of Inter's away matches this season.

Both Inter's ties against Bayern in the Champions League in the last week would have been 'overs' winners (1-2 and 2-2) and that makes it four in a row for Inter's matches that have had at least three goals in them.

It's also 6/8 in matches between these two that have had over 2.5 goals so all in all, we're pretty happy with that odds-against quote.

James' Fun Fact

Estoril don't like to see Braga come to town. In their last five home matches against them they've lost four including a 6-0 drubbing in 2018 and 3-1 loss in 2016, managing just one draw back in 2022, that finished 0-0.
