Al-Ahly (H) To Win to Nil vs Pharco FC (18:00) @ 8/11

We kick Wednesday's acca off in Egypt, where the Egyptian Premier League title race goes down to the last day.

Record holders Al-Ahly, who have won seven of the last nine titles, including the last two, are in control of their own destiny, as they are two points clear of Pyramids FC ahead of their final fixture.

On Wednesday, the Cairo-based club host Pharco FC at Al Salam Stadium. The visitors still have another game left to play after this one, but have very little to play for as they cannot drop below their current position of seventh, while the best they can hope for is fifth, which still wouldn't earn them qualification to a continental competition.

Pharco did beat Al-Ahly in Cairo only last month, triumphing 2-1 in the League Cup, but that was a second-string side for the hosts, who have won their last five games, keeping two clean sheets.

The visitors are unbeaten in their last four league matches, but the last three have ended in a stalemate, the most recent a goalless draw.

Al-Ahly are unbeaten at home in the league this season, winning nine and drawing three of their 12 contests, and I expect them to maintain that record on Wednesday.

They also boast the best defensive record, conceding just 18 times in 24 games, and so a shutout at home against a side that have scored just 25 goals this term looks achievable.

I think they can win the league in style, keeping their opponents out while netting at least once down the other end.

Football Odds

Pyramids FC (A) to beat Ceramica Cleopatra (18:00) @ 4/5

All Pyramids can do is focus on their own job, which is to beat Ceramica Cleopatra and put themselves on 56 points. Wednesday's visitors to the Arab Contractors Stadium lost their first two games of the month but have recovered to beat both Zamalek (0-1) and Petrojet (0-2) away from home without conceding a goal.

Fifth-place Ceramica Cleopatra, meanwhile, can only move up to fourth with a win on Wednesday, a position that still wouldn't qualify them for continental competition. The hosts have won their last two league games, but the last time a title contender came to town, on May 13, they lost 1-0 to Al-Ahly.

Ceramica Cleopatra haven't beaten Pyramids since November 2023, and lost the reverse fixture 2-1 at the 30 June Stadium in March.

Pyramids need to win to stand a chance of winning the title, and with their opponents this week having little to play for, I expect the visitors to collect the three points they so desire.

Draw or Viking (A) vs Bodo/Glimt (20:00) @ 6/4

Over in Norway, last season's Eliteserien champions Bodo/Glimt, who have won four of the last five championships, host early pacesetters Viking at Aspmyra Stadion.

Glimt started the defence of their crown with back-to-back wins against Byrne (0-1) and HamKam (3-0), but their involvement in the Uefa Europa League knockout stage possibly saw them take their eyes off the domestic prize for a while.

Kjetil Knutsen's side dropped points in a 2-2 draw at Molde on April 21, four days after knocking Lazio out in the Europa League quarter-finals, and in their first Eliteserien game after suffering a semi-final exit to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, they lost 2-1 at Tromso.

Glimt came back with a bang last weekend, thrashing Rosenborg 4-0 in Bodo, but on Wednesday, they take on a Viking side that hasn't lost since the opening day of the season and has won their last three league games.

Viking have been in a rampant mood in front of goal, netting 29 times across their 10 Eliteserien contests this year. Glimt, meanwhile, have struck 14 goals, although they have four games in hand on their next opponents.

Glimt were back on form against Rosenborg, but that victory followed four successive defeats, and with Viking in terrific form, this might be one of the last matches to back against the reigning champions, so take on the visitors in the double chance market here.

Both Teams To Score - Yes in Independiente vs Nacional Potosi (23:00) @ 6/4

We end the evening's action in Argentina, where Independiente take on Bolivian outfit Nacional Potosi in the final round of Copa Sudamericana group stage fixtures.

Independiente lead Group A after five games, a point ahead of Guarani (second) and Nacional Potosi (third), with all three clubs still able to clinch top spot and bypass the first round of the knockout phase.

Guarani host group stragglers Boston River in the other game on Wednesday, and with the Paraguayans expected to beat the Uruguayans, Independiente and Nacional Potosi will both be going all out for victory at the Estadio Libertadores de America.

That should create the conditions for an exciting encounter in Avellaneda, and while Independiente are big favourites to claim all three points at home, the visitors will fancy their chances of at least getting on the scoresheet.

La Banda Roja have found the net in four of their five Sudamericana games this year, scoring twice in a 2-0 victory over Independiente at the start of the campaign.

Independiente, meanwhile, have only been kept out once themselves - in that defeat in Bolivia - and three of their last four group games have seen BTTS - Yes land.
