Fiorentina vs Genoa Prediction: Genoa can take advantage of distracted Fiorentina

With Fiorentina battling for a place in the Europa Conference League semi-finals, La Viola might be forgiven for being slightly distracted when they host Genoa on Monday evening, April 15 (17:30).

The Tuscan outfit earned a goalless draw away to Viktoria Plzen last week so are in a favourable position for Thursday's home second leg at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. So Monday's meeting with 12th-placed Genoa could see manager Fiorentina Vincenzo Italiano tinker with his side given the proximity of their game against Plzen.

Fiorentina vs Genoa betting tips

  • Double Chance - Draw or Genoa @ 10/11
  • Albert Gudmundsson to score anytime @ 23/10

Team News

With a fully-fit squad at his disposal, Fiorentina manager Italiano has the luxury of being able to make wholesale changes for Monday's visit of Genoa.

Giacomo Bonaventura recently came through a suspension and a minor knock and could feature from the off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

As for Genoa, Ukrainian star Ruslan Malinovskyi is sidelined through injury and Vitinha is a doubt as he continues his recovery from a muscle problem.

However, the visitors will be boosted by the return of Italy striker Mateo Retegui, who is available once again following an ankle injury and recent suspension.

Double Chance - Draw or Genoa @ 10/11

While Genoa have not beaten Fiorentina in their last six meetings, they have shared the spoils with La Viola on three occasions in that time.

Tenth-placed Fiorentina are hardly in blistering form at this stage of the season, with just one win in their last seven outings in Serie A, and it would be understandable if Italiano targeted European success in the final weeks of the campaign.

Genoa have no such distractions and look decent value at a shade of odds-against to take home at least a point from their trip to Florence.

Albert Gudmundsson to score anytime @ 23/10

A player in good form at present, Albert Gudmundsson is a player to keep an eye on in the anytime goalscorer market.

The Icelandic forward has found the net in three of Genoa’s last four Serie A games and is the club’s leading goalscorer this term with 12 strikes.

Given his run of good form in front of goal, quotes of 23/10 about the 26-year-old Gudmundsson adding to his tally on Monday night against La Viola look worth taking.

Match Odds

Fiorentina are 5/6 favourites to triumph on home soil with Genoa 10/3 to come away from Florence with all three points.

The draw at the Stadio Artemio Franchi is available at 5/2 while over 2.5 goals is an even-money shot at time of writing.
