Total Goals - Over 3.5
Canada and Switzerland have both been two of the more entertaining sides to watch so far in the 2026 World Cup. It would take a freak set of results to stop either progressing and that should mean the pressure is off and we get a really entertaining game.
The co-hosts put six past Qatar from a staggering 30 shots and the Swiss really got motoring late against Bosnia-Herzegovina, scoring four times in the final 20 minutes or so. I like this to be a high-scoring so pushed the Over line from EVS for 2.5 to the 5/2 we’ve got for 3.5 to kick us off.
Total Corners - Over 10.5
Following that hypothesis that we are going to get an entertaining game of football, it stands to reason that I’ll look for a top corner line to go with it hand-in-hand.
Canada had 19 corners on their own against Qatar last week and the over 10.5 mark has been cleared in three of the four Group B matches with the only one that fell short, doing so by just one. 6/4 is a big price for this leg.
Granit Xhaka - 1+ Shot on Target
The Sunderland man left it late but his 97th-minute penalty last time out hit the 1+ Shot on Target mark for that match.
Xhaka has already had four attempts on goal in the two matches and his ability to strike the ball from set pieces or from outside the box, means this is the third odds against leg on the spin for this 220/1 Bet Builder.
Ruben Vargas - 1+ Shot on Target
After being benched for the last game, the 27-year-old came on with the game still deadlocked at 0-0 and produced a very impressive match turning display along with Johan Manzambi. One goal and two shots on target is quite the return and should push him back in Murat Yakin’s thoughts for a starting berth.
Three Shots on Target in 98 minutes of football so far this tournament certainly lends credence to this being a solid leg.
Jonathan David 2+ Shots on Target
Let’s be honest, he’s highly unlikely to have five Shots on Target from eight total shots like he did against Qatar but the Juventus man has every chance to have another good game following his hat-trick.
His confidence will be sky-high and is an open game, he’ll be up front with his strike-partner Cyle Larin and they’ll be peppering the Swiss goal.
Cyle Larin - 3+ Shots
Speaking of the Southampton man, he certainly took his opportunity speaking up top alongside David. He broke the deadlock against Qatar and followed that up with another five shots in total.
That was by far his best return on that stat for the national team and I see no reason why he doesn’t back that up with another strong showing. They form a good partnership and I think they’ll be a tough out for whoever they face in the knockout rounds.
Breel Embolo - 3+ Shots
It was one of those games for the Rennes’ striker against Bosnia-Herzegovina with few chances falling to him, meaning he only accounted for a solitary shot.
In his previous seven competitive matches however, he’s cleared the 3+ shot mark on no fewer than four occasions and we are getting him at odds-against to do so again against a Canadian side who haven’t played all that much competitive football in recent years. This feels like a noise final leg to get the price up to north of 200/1.
