Sweden vs Poland Prediction: Visitors to claim World Cup play-off win

Sweden and Poland meet again in a World Cup play-off final on Tuesday night after also facing each other for a place in the 2022 tournament. The Eagles came out on top with a 2-0 win four years ago but the Swedes now boast home advantage and will be hoping the nation’s support at Strawberry Arena will help them to secure their spot at this summer’s World Cup.
Viktor Gyokeres netted a hat-trick as Sweden beat Ukraine 3-1 in the play-off semi-final last week, while Poland got the better of Albania to advance.

Team News
Sweden boss Graham Potter is already without key players Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski and now may have to contend with a depleted backline.
Defenders Isak Hien and Gabriel Gudmundsson were both forced off against Ukraine and so Borussia Dortmund’s Daniel Svensson is on standby to deputise.
Poland manager Jan Urban doesn’t have such problems to contend with and will have Nicola Zalewski back after the Atalanta man missed the semi-final win against Albania due to suspension.
wedSweden vs Poland Predicted Lineups
- Sweden: Nordfeldt; Lagerbielke, Starfelt, Lindelof; Johansson, Karlstrom, Ayari, Svensson; Elanga, Nygren; Gyokeres

Sweden are Evens to win in the match result market, while Poland are priced at 3/1 to claim a World Cup play-off final victory in normal time. Backing the draw after 90 minutes is available at 23/10.
Both teams to score - no is 8/11, with over 2.5 goals priced at 6/5.
Gyokeres is 7/2 to open the scoring for Sweden.
Poland to win tie @ 6/4
Sweden’s World Cup qualifying campaign has been far from plain sailing and so Poland will fancy their chances of winning away in Stockholm at the Strawberry Arena on Tuesday.
The Swedes may be in the play-offs but that was via the Nations League route. In qualifying the Blue and Yellow actually failed to win a single game in six, drawing twice and losing four in a group with Switzerland, Kosovo and Slovenia.
Thursday’s victory over Ukraine in the semi-finals was their first triumph since June 2025 while Viktor Gyokeres’ hat-trick was the first time the forward has found the net in qualifying.
When you also consider former Brighton boss Potter is without star names Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski, the Swedes could be up against it.
Poland come into the game in a good place and are unbeaten in seven matches under Urban.
Beating Albania 2-1 last week, the Eagles are the in-form team and so backing them to repeat the 2022 feat of defeating Sweden to reach the World Cup finals appeals.

Robert Lewandowski to score anytime @ 8/5
Gyokeres may have scored three for Sweden last week but it’s Robert Lewandowski’s consistency which makes him a sound pick to find the net on Tuesday night.
The 37-year-old forward has 89 goals in 146 appearances for Poland and has got his name on the scoresheet in four of his last five games for his country.
Lewandowski got the equaliser against Albania on Thursday and will be the Eagles’ main threat against the Swedes.
