Jordan
Jordan lost 3-1 against Austria on Wednesday and were forced to withdraw Abdallah Nasib through injury with 10 minutes remaining.
The defender will be assessed but should he fail to be fit in time to face Algeria, Jordan coach Jamal Sellami can call on Saed Al-Rousan to fill in at the back.
Ali Olwan, who equalised for Jordan against Austria before the team fell to defeat, will again lead the line.
Mohammad Taha, who was selected in the Jordan squad after forward Ibrahim Sabra was forced to withdraw after tearing an ankle ligament in training, is likely to start against Algeria after taking to the field for Jordan's opener.
Algeria
Goalkeeper Luca Zidane was at fault for two of the goals in Algeria's 3-0 defeat by Argentina but is likely to keep his place between the sticks.
Defender Ramy Bensebaini overcame an ankle issue to play in his team's World Cup opener, coming through the game unscathed and completing his first 90 minutes since April.
Amine Gouiri is expected to lead the line for the Desert Warriors. Mohammed Amoura scored 10 goals in qualifying but will likely have to settle for a place on the bench again, having failed to find the net in his last nine appearances for his country.
Riyad Mahrez played the final half hour against Argentina and, though pushing for a start, will likely be brought on as an impact substitute against Jordan.
Jordan vs Algeria Key Players
Mousa Al-Tamari (Jordan)
Winger Mousa Al-Tamari has scored 24 goals in 90 games for Jordan having earned his first cap back in 2016 and continues to be an important presence in the forward line.
Spending the last three seasons in France, first with Montpellier before joining Rennes, Al-Tamari netted six times in 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last season.
The 29-year-old last scored against Nigeria at the end of March and will be keen to record his next strike at this summer's finals.
Amine Gouiri (Algeria)
Mahrez has been the main man for Algeria for more than a decade but now, at the age of 35, the forward rarely completes 90 minutes for his nation and was brought on as a substitute against Argentina.
Therefore, the Greens will be looking to striker Amine Gouiri for goals and inspiration against Jordan. The forward scored a brace in the recent friendly win over Bolivia and will be keen to get off the mark in Group J.
The Marseille frontman scored eight goals in 22 matches in the French top division and at 26 years of age, is entering his prime.
