England vs Serbia Prediction: Three Lions to keep their defensive record intact

England are already looking ahead to the Fifa World Cup finals, having already sealed their place through the Uefa qualifiers. They have still got two games left to play and up next for them is Serbia on Thursday (19:45 GMT, ITV1) at Wembley.
The visitors are currently battling with Albania for second place in Group K, with a point separating the two teams. Read on for my England vs Serbia predictions, featuring the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Goalkeeper Nick Pope and Anthony Gordon had to withdraw from the England squad due to injury. Thomas Tuchel has replaced them with James Trafford and Trevoh Chalobah respectively.
Marc Guehi reported to injury despite carrying a knock on his foot, so it remains to be seen if he will feature at all.
Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden are back in the Three Lions set-up and the former has a chance of being included in Thursday's lineup.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has not been included in Serbia's squad on account of an unspecified injury, which has not gone down well. The former Fulham striker has scored 63 goals for the senior men's team - at least 25 more than anyone else - so the goalscoring burden will fall to Dusan Vlahovic and Luka Jovic in his absence.
England vs Serbia Predicted Lineups
- England: Pickford; James, Konsa, Stones, Burn; Anderson, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Rashford; Kane
- Serbia: Petrovic; Mimovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Terzic; Gudelj, Lukic; Zivkovic, Samardzic, Kostic; Vlahovic
England are the 2/7 favourites to come out on top here. They are 9/10 (implied probability of 52.6%) to win to nil, which they have done in all six qualifiers so far.
Serbia have drawn one of their qualifiers and the stalemate is valued at 9/2. The visitors have three victories in this campaign and they are 11/1 to end the Three Lions' perfect record.
England striker Harry Kane has six goals in qualifying and he is 5/2 to open the scoring on Thursday.
England vs Serbia Stats
- England have won all six qualifiers so far
- All of them were won to nil
- Harry Kane (ENG) has six goals in qualifying
To Win To Nil - England @ 9/10
With qualification secured, England boss Tuchel could slightly deviate from the plan that has served the Three Lions well in qualifying by experimenting with team selections in preparation for next summer.
While that is a possibility, I don't think there will be too many tweaks in these last two fixtures. England have the opportunity to end this campaign with a perfect record for wins and without conceding a single goal.
All six victories have been to nil so far and I am confident that we will see a seventh on Thursday. Serbia have lost two of their last three qualifiers and they head to Wembley without their main source of goals, Mitrovic.

Anytime Goalscorer - Harry Kane @ 8/11
With six goals for England in this qualifying campaign, captain Kane is the best person to look at when thinking of betting on a goalscorer in this contest. He has as many goals as appearances in this competition, and he has been on the scoresheet in five of them.
One of them came against Serbia in the reverse fixture, and so I think there is value to be had in the Bayern Munich forward punishing their defenders for a second time.
At club level, Kane has 23 goals in 17 appearances across all competitions in 2025/26, so he is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe. I think the visitors are going to have a tough time trying to keep the Three Lions' all-time leading marksman quiet in this one.
