BTTS

I’m going to start with a bit of an outside shout given we have a favourite, but one that I think makes good sense. England’s strength in attacking areas is obvious, with the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and the wide players all elite - but defensively they have looked really susceptible to counter-attacks.

Ghana got a 0-0 draw against the Three Lions but created plenty, while Panama had 13 shots and had two on target. They were only let down by some poor finishing but I think DR Congo have better players in attacking areas and should be able to find the net at some stage.

This will not be the simple game most are expecting, and England - like Brazil, might have to do things the hard way.

Harry Kane to score (Sub Switch)

I will back the captain Kane to score again in this one, after he headed home against Panama to take his tally for the tournament to three. Bellingham was the standout player of the group stage in an England shirt but Kane has been quietly going about his business and scoring goals.

I think he is set to notch another goal here, as this team is still built to get the best out of him and Jude.

Betfred's Sub Switch offer rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.

England vs DR Congo Odds

Jude Bellingham 3+ fouls won

Let’s talk about the main man. He was everywhere in the win over Panama, getting a wonderful assist for Kane and scoring the opener from a corner. He created the most chances from a deeper role and I think he will probably be pushed forward into the 10 for this knockout clash.

That increases the likelihood that he will draw fouls, having been fouled four times against Panama. I think DR Congo will have a plan to deal with him, and that plan may be to continue to foul him. Three or more seems achievable.

Yoane Wissa 1+ shot on target

I’ve already said that the underdogs will pose a threat so I think it is worth backing Newcastle United’s Yoane Wissa to land a shot on target. He had six shots in total in the win over Uzbekistan, scoring twice and having another four off target.

He is going to be a threat on the counter-attack, and feels like DR Congo’s most likely scorer. Having said that, I’ll play things safe and back him to land one effort on target.
