Team News
Feyenoord defender Malcolm Jeng is sidelined for the foreseeable future after undergoing surgery, joining the likes of Gernot Trauner, Thomas Beelen, Jakub Moder.
However, Anel Ahmedhodzic is available after serving a suspension last weekend.
As for Villa, John McGinn faces a late fitness test after sustaining a knock in the weekend's win over Fulham. Tyrone Mings was also forced off early against the Cottagers and is therefore a major doubt, along with Amadou Onana, Youri Tielemans and Ross Barkley.
Ollie Watkins will lead the line after opening his account for the season at the weekend, while the likes of Donyell Malen and Jadon Sancho will be hoping to force their way into the starting XI after being named on the substitutes' bench last time out.
Feyenoord vs Aston Villa Predicted Line-ups
- Feyenoord: Wellenreuther; Read, Ahmedhodzic, Watanade, Bos; Timber, Targhalline; Borges, Larin, Sauer; Ueda
- Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Bogarde, Kamara; Malen, Rogers, Sancho; Watkins
Feyenoord are 15/8 to claim all three points, while Villa are 6/4, giving them an implied win probability of 40%, and the draw is a 23/10 shot.
Watkins leads the anytime goalscorer market at 8/5, and Sem Steijn is the shortest-priced for the hosts at 2/1.
Feyenoord vs Aston Villa Stats
- Feyenoord have scored 15 goals across seven league outings and sit top of the Eredivisie
- Aston Villa are looking for a third-straight win
Aston Villa to win and over 2.5 goals @ 11/4
What a difference a week can make for Villa.
They went into last Thursday's Europa League tie with Bologna having failed to win any of their opening five Premier League fixtures and they'd been dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Brentford.
However, their 1-0 win over the Serie A outfit seems to have kick-started their season, as they followed that victory up with a 3-1 win over Fulham at the weekend, getting them off the mark in the Premier League.
So, the confidence should be flowing for Unai Emery's side, and there could be plenty of goalmouth action at De Kuip.
Fifteen goals scored in seven league games shows the forward power that the Dutch outfit possess and eight wins in their last nine at home highlights the task that Villa are faced with. However, we're backing the visitors to make it two wins from two Europa League games.
Despite a difficult start to the new Premier League season, Villa are a much better side than their results suggest, so we're backing an away win and over 2.5 goals on Thursday night.

John McGinn to score anytime @ 5/1
Providing that he's fit enough to play, Villa skipper McGinn could be a promising shout to score anytime on Thursday.
As mentioned above, McGinn suffered a knock against Fulham at the weekend, but Emery will be hoping his skipper will be fit enough to feature in the Netherlands, especially with the likes of Onana and Tielemans absent.
And for good reason, too - the Scotland international has scored in each of his last two games for Villa, and is halfway to matching his tally for the whole of last year.
