It's all to play for in Group E of the Champions League on Tuesday evening (20:00), as leaders Atletico Madrid face a Feyenoord side just two points behind them in third.

The match at De Kuip could be a pivotal one as an Atletico win, coupled with a Lazio victory over Celtic, would see the Spaniards and Italians progress, and Feyenoord consigned to the Europa League.

The Dutch side will be confident of preventing such an outcome, though, after winning both of their previous group games in Rotterdam this term.

Feyenoord vs Atletico Madrid Betting Tips:

  • Feyenoord to score over 1.5 goals @ 5/4
  • Over 52.5 booking points @ 5/6

Team News

Feyenoord will again be without Alireza Jahanbakhsh after the Iranian winger injured himself on international duty. There could also be a change in the backline after Bart Nieuwkoop was forced off early into the second-half of Saturday's 4-2 win over Excelsior.

The visitors are still without long-term injury absentees Thomas Lemar and Vitolo but Rodrigo de Paul is free to return to Champions League action after serving a ban in their last group game.

The likes of de Paul, Jose Gimenez and Nahuel Molina will all be pushing for starts after being benched on the weekend, while Memphis Depay could make his European bow for Atletico after returning to action against Mallorca on Saturday.

Match Odds

Feyenoord are 13/8 to win and leapfrog Atletico in the table, while the Los Colchoneros are rated as slight favourites for the victory at 6/4. The draw can be backed at 5/2.

Both teams to score is 4/7 and over 2.5 goals is 8/11.

Feyenoord to score over 1.5 goals @ 5/4

Feyenoord struck seven goals in their first three group games - two against Celtic, two at Atletico, and three at home to Lazio - before Maurizio Sarri masterminded a 1-0 win over Arne Slot's side in Rome earlier this month.

Atletico have become synonymous with gritty, defensive displays under Diego Simeone but they've certainly let their lofty standards at the back drop this season, with the two goals they conceded in the first 34 minutes at home to Feyenoord reflective of that.

The Madrid club have conceded at least twice in five games this term, and their last away trip in the Champions League saw them gift a couple to Celtic in the opening half an hour in Glasgow.

Feyenoord have the firepower to match that total, having scored at least two goals in 13 games this season.

Whether they can keep their opponents out at the other end is another matter - no side has scored more than Atletico (12 - level with Manchester City) in the group stage - but with a draw unlikely to be enough if they want to progress to the last 16 of the competition, Feyenoord need to be pushing for goals on Tuesday.

Over 52.5 booking points @ 5/6

Feyenoord's group games so far have been littered with incidents and cards; their opening match with Celtic produced 75 booking points (Betfred uses the model that a straight red=25, two yellows and a red=35, and a yellow=10). That was followed by 50 away to Atletico, 120 at home to Lazio, and 50 in the reverse fixture in Rome.

Atletico's games haven't been short of booking points either, with 50 at Lazio, 95 at Celtic and 45 at home to the Scots, as well as the 50 against Feyenoord. In fact, only three clubs (Lens, Red Star Belgrade and Lazio) have picked up more yellow cards than the Spanish side's 14 this term.

With qualification on the line for Atletico, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them resort to the 'dark arts' in order to secure it, with Simeone's side so well-versed in it.
