Now with four points more than they had last time they played, Everton return to action as they host West Ham United at Goodison Park at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon. They will have surely been boosted by the news that their ten-point deduction was reduced to six points, a decision that has now taken them back up to 15th in the Premier League table.

But, Sean Dyche and his players must now turn their attention to on-the-field matters, and an important clash vs West Ham. The Hammers have a Europa League tie vs Freiburg to look forward to on Thursday, but first, Goodison Park awaits. Below we’ve previewed the match and come up with a couple of betting selections.

Everton vs West Ham Tips

  • Draw and under 2.5 goals @ 7/2
  • Correct score 1-1 @ 6/1

Team News

Arnaut Danjuma could return to action next week but is likely to miss this one, while Idrissa Gana Gueye and Lewis Dobbin remain out. Andre Gomes is expected to slowly be phased back into first-team training over the next month, while Dele Alli is still sidelined.

West Ham have a fully fit squad to choose from, and Kalvin Phillips is back available after serving his suspension, having been sent off against Nottingham Forest.

Match Odds

Everton are the slight favourites for this one, priced at 21/20 to take all three points. A draw can be backed at 13/5, while West Ham are priced at 5/2 for the win. BTTS is 4/6, while over 2.5 goals is available at 4/5.

Draw and under 2.5 goals @ 7/2

I like the look of this price a lot. Everton have drawn four of their last five matches, and the only game they didn’t draw, was the 2-0 defeat at Manchester City. At the Etihad they looked like they might hold on for a point, before being blown away by Erling Haaland.

Still, this run of results gives us a good indication of where Everton are currently at. They certainly aren’t one of the best teams in the division, but they are good enough to be competitive in almost every match they play. They’ve held Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion in recent weeks, and West Ham fit into that category of mid-table teams outside the elite.

Dyche will be hoping for a win to take Everton further away from danger, but he may have to settle for a point against an unpredictable West Ham side.

Correct score 1-1 @ 6/1

I think these two sides will produce a tight encounter, but also fancy plumping for a correct score on Merseyside. Everton’s last two games have finished 1-1, and they have only scored more than once on one occasion since 16 December. They are struggling for goals but able to stay in games, while West Ham have been all over the show of late.

They failed to score in three consecutive defeats against Manchester United, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, before beating Brentford 4-2 last time out. Unfortunately for David Moyes, his side are lacking confidence on the road, having not won away in any competition in 2024.

A 1-1 draw, between two sides who both have their own struggles feels about right. 6/1 feels like a great price for this scoreline.
