David Moyes takes on one of his former clubs, Manchester United, at Goodison Park on Saturday (12:30, TNT Sports 1) as his resurgent Everton side hunt a fifth win of his stewardship following his reappointment as manager last month.

Below are my Everton vs Manchester United predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds, ahead of this Premier League lunchtime kick-off on Merseyside.

Everton vs Manchester United Betting Tips

  • Match Result - Everton @ 6/4
  • First Goalscorer - Beto (EVE) @ 5/1

Team News

Iliman Ndiaye, Orel Mangala, Dwight McNeil (all knee), Nathan Patterson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (both hamstring), Youssef Chermiti (thigh), Seamus Coleman (calf) and Armando Broja (ankle)) remain unavailable for Everton due to injury.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is back from suspension, though, leaving Moyes with a difficult decision over whether to restore him to the starting XI at the expense of Flamengo loanee Charly Alcaraz, who fired the winner in last weekend's 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

"We've got them both fit at the moment so that gives us a decision to make. We'll look at it and I'll need both of them – we're really short of numbers here," said Moyes.

Football Odds

Like their hosts on Saturday, Manchester United are dealing with an extensive injury list.

Amad (ankle), Lisandro Martinez (knee), Luke Shaw (calf), Mason Mount (leg), Jonny Evans (muscle) and Kobbie Mainoo (unspecified) are all out injured for the Red Devils, who are waiting to see if Toby Collyer recovers from the knock that kept him out of last Sunday's 1-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur.

Head coach Ruben Amorim does hope to have three absentees from that game - Christian Eriken, Manuel Ugarte and Leny Yoro - available for selection on Saturday, however.

Everton vs Manchester United Odds

Everton have only won two of their last nine games against Man United at Goodison and that record is seemingly reflected in their price of 6/4 on Saturday, which implies a 40% win probability. That does make the Toffees favourites, though, with the visitors handed odds of 2/1 (33.3%).

The draw is priced at 11/5, both teams to score at 10/11, and over 2.5 total goals at 6/5.

Blues forward Beto has struck in his last three Premier League games, netting four times since the start of February, and he leads the anytime goalscorer market at 2/1 here. Rasmus Hojlund, without a league goal since October 19, is first up for Man United at 11/4.

Match Result - Everton @ 6/4

It's difficult to make a case for Man United achieving any sort of positive result at Goodison given their form this season, firstly under Erik ten Hag and, more recently, under Amorim.

The Red Devils are 15th in the Premier League standings, a point and a place below the Toffees, and the two clubs are in contrasting form heading into Saturday's contest.

Everton lost their first game under Moyes, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, but have gone unbeaten in their following five Premier League games, winning four of them. Even the draw, a 2-2 with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on February 12, felt like a win as James Tarkowski equalised in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time.

Man United, meanwhile, have lost three of their last four league games including their most recent two, and have been beaten eight times in the competition since Amorim secured his first win which came in the reverse fixture against Everton (4-0) at Old Trafford on December 1.

There's a feel-good factor back around Goodison, something that can't be said for those of a red persuasion in Manchester, and I'm expecting Everton to carry on their terrific record in the second coming of 'Moyesiah'.

I know 'it's Manchester United we're talking about here', but even the likes of Gary Neville seem to have shaken off that line recently as the grim reality starts to sink in - a few years too late, if we're being generous.

At 6/4, I'm taking a home win all day long.

First Goalscorer - Beto (EVE) @ 5/1

After a difficult first 18 months or so under Dyche, scoring just four times in 42 Premier League appearances, Beto has been a man transformed under Moyes, netting as many goals in his last three competition outings.

The 27-year-old bagged a brace in Everton's 4-0 win over Leicester on February 1, scoring both goals in the first half, opened the scoring in the Merseyside derby 11 days later, and was first again on the scoresheet against Palace at Selhurst Park. Can the Portuguese forward open the scoring for the third match in a row on Saturday?

I certainly believe so considering Man United's shaky defence.

The Red Devils have conceded first in all three games this month and it took Spurs' James Maddison just 13 minutes to find breach their back line last Sunday.

Maddison was first to Andre Onana's save from a Lucas Bergvall shot, with the Cameroonian goalkeeper's defenders standing still as the England international tapped in at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

I can see more of the same on Saturday with Beto taking full advantage of kamikaze defending by the visitors.
