Jefferson Lerma 1+ Foul

This could be a gruelling battle across the field, with the midfield likely to be a key area for either side to achieve a positive result.

The meeting at Selhurst Park in the reverse fixture back in November was an enthralling encounter, with the Toffees edging a 3-2 victory on the day, but there were plenty of feisty moments within the contest, with 27 fouls and five yellow cards awarded.

One player who is no stranger to the wrong side of the referee is combative Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma, who has picked up five yellow cards already this campaign.

The 29-year-old has committed 33 fouls so far to average almost two fouls a game, so expect Lerma to make his presence known at Goodison Park in what is expected to be a tense contest.

Jarrad Branthwaite to be carded

If the meeting in South London is a precursor to this encounter, then referee Paul Tierney may have a busy evening on his hands.

Tierney has dished out 52 yellows and three dismissals across his 15 games in charge this season, including four cautions to Crystal Palace players.

He has yet to show a card to an Everton man - although he has only taken charge of one game prior to this - but this could change on Monday, given the tendency for ill-discipline in recent weeks for the Toffees.

Central defender Jarrad Branthwaite will be high up the list of players expected to fall foul of the referee with the 21-year-old top of the pile in yellows for Sean Dyche’s side with seven, and another booking added to the tally could be coming his way.

Jack Harrison 2+ shots on target

Goals have sometimes been hard to come by for the Toffees this season but it is not through a lack of trying, with Everton ranking in the top 10 for shots taken in the league.

Abdoulaye Doucoure currently leads the rankings in terms of shots on target percentage - for players that have taken at least 10 shots - but there is no guarantee that he will appear on Monday as he has been struggling with a hamstring injury.

Therefore, Everton may have to look elsewhere for their attacking inspiration and Jack Harrison looks as likely as any in the home ranks, with just over 36% of his attempts hitting the target. He looks certain to be trying his luck on a number of occasions on Monday, especially considering what is at stake.
