A game that could change the landscape of the relegation battle sees Sean Dyche’s Everton host a Burnley side that have breathed new life into their fight for survival over recent weeks.

The Clarets are on their longest unbeaten streak this season - with their last four Premier League fixtures seeing three draws and one victory - and Vincent Kompany’s men could extend this run at Goodison Park, where Everton are yet to win in the league in 2024.

Everton vs Burnley Prediction

  • Draw and Both Teams to Score @ 4/1
  • James Tarkowski to score anytime @ 7/1

Team News

Dyche has a handful of injury absentees going into this crucial encounter with his former employers, with Dele Alli and Lewis Dobbin missing out with respective ankle and groin problems, while Arnaut Danjuma is unlikely to shake off his injury in time to feature.

Amadou Onana’s fitness will be assessed prior to kick-off with the Belgian carrying a knock, but Andre Gomes looks to have recovered from his recent calf issues and may be in contention to start.

Burnley have a trio of players expected to miss out with long-term injuries in the form of Nathan Redmond, Luca Koleosho and Aaron Ramsey, but their recent strong run renders it unlikely to see too many changes to the starting eleven.

Winger Jacob Bruun Larsen will be expected to keep his place on the right hand side of the midfield, while Arijanet Muric should stay between the sticks ahead of James Trafford.

Match Odds

Home advantage makes Everton the favourites to claim victory at 4/6 - or a 60% implied chance - while the Clarets are 4/1 to take the three points at Goodison Park.

The draw can be backed at 3/1, while Toffees striker Beto is the likeliest to find the net during the 90 minutes at 6/4.

Draw and Both Teams to Score @ 4/1

Everton have not had the greatest amount of joy when playing in front of their own fans this season - picking up just 13 points at home - and so a win for the hosts may be out of the question on Saturday.

However, just one defeat in their last four home matches in the league would suggest that the Toffees will be hard to break down and so a point could be the best outcome for Dyche’s men.

Burnley’s current unbeaten streak will put them in good stead to climb closer to safety but, with no clean sheets kept across this run, it is hard to see the Clarets keeping Everton at bay and so a score draw draws the most appeal.

James Tarkowski to score anytime @ 7/1

Both Everton and Burnley rank in the top seven for shots taken from dead balls and set pieces could help decide the outcome of this encounter.

Toffees defender - and former Clarets star - James Tarkowski has taken 22 shots so far this season, more than any other central defender expected to feature in this match.

A goal to help ease Everton’s relegation worries - and compound Burnley’s in the process - could be written in the stars and he looks a tempting outside shout at 7/1 to find the back of the net.
