Everton have left their early-season troubles behind them and will be targeting a third successive victory when taking on Brighton at Goodison Park.

The trip to Merseyside looks like an important fixture for Brighton, who are aiming to end a winless sequence of four Premier League games.

Everton vs Brighton Prediction

  • Brighton to win @ 6/5
  • Evan Ferguson to score anytime @ 13/8

Team News

Everton were 3-0 winners at home to Burnley in the EFL Cup fourth round on Wednesday and appear to have come through the contest unscathed.

Sean Dyche is waiting for the right moment to reintroduce Seamus Coleman and has just two definite absentees with Dele Alli (groin) and Andre Gomes (calf) on the recovery trail.

Brighton could welcome back Pervis Estupinan (thigh) and Tariq Lamptey (unspecified injury), who missed last Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Fulham.

However, Danny Welbeck (unspecified injury), Jakob Moder, Julio Enciso and Solly March (all knee) are unavailable.

Match Odds

Brighton are the favourites for this fixture at 6/5 to secure maximum points. The draw is priced at 13/5 and Everton can be backed at 21/10 to achieve only their second home league win of the season.

Both teams to score is available at 4/9, while over 3.5 goals is quoted more generously at 11/8.

Brighton to win and both teams to score, which has occurred on each of their last two trips to Goodison, can be backed at 12/5.

Brighton to win @ 6/5

Brighton have gone four games without a Premier League victory for the first time since October 2022 but they remain a high quality side and can claim maximum points against Everton on Merseyside.

It has been slightly surprising to see the Seagulls lose the winning habit but there have been contributing factors.

Brighton’s poor run began with a dreadful 6-1 defeat at Aston Villa but they responded with a 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool and performed creditably in a 2-1 loss at Manchester City.

Last weekend’s 1-1 draw at home to Fulham would have felt like two points dropped but it came just three days after a superb 2-0 success at home to Ajax in the Europa League.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have sometimes found it tough to cope with the busy schedule but they have had a free midweek, allowing them to recharge the batteries.

Everton’s progress in the EFL Cup means they have had the busier week and they could be carrying one of two tired legs.

The Toffees have played at a higher tempo in recent games and their results have noticeably improved. However, they could be given the run around by a technically superior Brighton, who are a value odds-against wager to return to winning ways.

Evan Ferguson to score anytime @ 13/8

Ireland international striker Even Ferguson is one of the hottest teenage talents in the Premier League and could add to his seasonal five-goal tally this weekend.

The 19-year-old has fond memories of Goodison Park, having contributed a goal and an assist to Brighton’s 4-1 success away to Everton in January this year.

He was on target in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Fulham and looks a solid 13/8 wager to stay on the goalscoring trail.
