Euro 2024 Team Betting Predictions: Denmark

Denmark's run to the semi-finals at Euro 2020 was one of their strongest since lifting the title in 1992. Defeat to England in the final four saw Gareth Southgate's side reach their first major international final since 1966, but the Danes have been paired with the Three Lions once again in Group C, alongside Serbia and Slovenia.

Below you can find my Euro 2024 Denmark prediction, as well as assessing the squad and the latest top scorer odds.

The Danes were eliminated in the group stages at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but they booked their place in Germany with relative ease, winning their qualifying group ahead of Slovenia and Finland.

The squad has lots of experience in the likes of Kasper Schmeichel, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Christian Eriksen, whilst also boasting some excellent young talent in Rasmus Hojlund and Jonas Wind, who were probably Denmark's two best players in qualifying.

Kasper Hjulmand will be feeling positive about his side's chances of escaping Group C - potentially alongside England - and he'll be looking for another knockout run where they can potentially upset a few of the big boys.

Outright winners @ 40/1

Denmark are one of the outsiders for the tournament at 40/1, but they shocked everybody at Euro 2020 by reaching the semi-finals, so who's to say that they can't go one better and reach the final? After all, a cup final is a one-off game...

In all seriousness, I think the Danes are probably expected to land somewhere between the last 16 and quarter-final stage, providing they get out of the group.

The demons from the group-stage exit in Qatar two years ago may still linger around this squad, who failed to live up to expectations in that tournament.

To qualify from group @ 3/10

On paper, qualifying from Group C looks to be a straightforward task, as reflected in the price.

There'll be a quest for revenge in the meeting against England for the last-four defeat at Euro 2020, and the Danes have three wins out of three against Serbia, and five wins and a draw in six meetings with Slovenia.

To win group @ 4/1

This would be a shock I suppose, but after England's defeat against Iceland last Friday, the Danes may be fancying themselves to cause an upset.

As I've alluded to above, I think most fans would expect Denmark to qualify from Group C ahead of Serbia and Slovenia, particularly given their historical success against both nations, but I suspect - and no, this isn't English bias, "it's coming home" fever kicking in - most pundits would have England topping the group.

I think 4/1 is a decent price for Denmark to top Group C though, particularly as the Three Lions looked less than convincing in the defeat to Iceland last week and could take a few games to get going in Germany.

Top team goalscorer - Rasmus Hojlund @ 11/8

Despite a lack of service, the Manchester United striker has displayed his quality in his first season in England and will no doubt lead the line for his country in Germany.

The former Atalanta forward scored 16 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, which is a respectable return considering United's problems this season.

The 21-year-old has also had a remarkably strong start to his international career with seven goals in 13 caps, and all seven coming in competitive internationals.

Jonas Wind is next in the betting behind Hojlund at 6/1 after scoring 12 goals in 37 games for Wolfsburg last season, as well as having seven goal contributions in 10 matches during Denmark's qualification campaign.
