England’s U21 continued their good form with a thumping 3-0 win over Serbia U21 last time out. Next up, they host Northern Ireland U21 in a bid to qualify for the European Championships in 2025. Below we have previewed the match and given a couple of betting tips.

England U21 vs Northern Ireland U21:

  • England U21 to win with -2 handicap @ 4/5
  • England U21 to win both halves @ 8/11

Team News

James McAtee scored twice and Harvery Elliott was also on the scoresheet as England raced to a 3-0 win over Serbia. Lee Carsley started with a front three of Noni Madueke, Liam Delap and Jaden Philogene but rang the changes in the second half with the game already won. We could see the boss name the same XI, although Josh Wilson-Esbrand could force his way into the line-up.

Match Odds

England are 1/20 to win this game while a draw is 8/1. Northern Ireland are 20/1 to win this match, BTTS is 2/1 and over 2.5 goals is 2/5.

England U21 to win with -2 handicap @ 4/5

England are going to win this game fairly comfortably, from what we have seen so far. Carsley’s men have quickly established themselves as one of the finest sides in Europe and having won the Euros this summer, picked up where they left off.

With the wealth of attacking talent at their disposal, England are likely to have a field day against a soft Northern Ireland defence. With that front three, the youngsters are keen to take advantage of the absence of Cole Palmer. As a result, we can expect England to score three or four goals on Tuesday night and win comfortably at a price of 4/5 for the -2 handicap makes a whole lot of sense.

.England U21 to win both halves @ 8/11

Given England are so short to win this match, the price of 8/11 seems long on them to win both halves. They won both halves against Serbia last time out, and hit nine against the same opponent in the reverse fixture. Northern Ireland shouldn’t pose too much of a threat, given they lost 2-1 to Serbia last time out.

That gives you some idea of the difference in quality between these two sides, so we should be able to take full advantage with England to win both halves. It might be a price shorter than EVS, but this pick actually represents good value in my eyes.
