Following Rangers’ trip to Paisley, Celtic visit Dens Park (Sunday, 15:00, Sky Sports Football), where they’ll meet a Dundee side determined to cause another upset. The home team held Gers to a goalless draw recently, and fans would love to see their favourites upset the Hoops.

It’s the first game following the Premiership split, and defending champions Celtic are off to Dens Park, where they’re hoping to find more fortune than rivals Rangers did at the same venue recently.

Gers suffered a number of call-offs with the pitch unplayable, but it’s been dry this week, and we should get the all-clear for Sunday. Dundee enjoys the home advantage and would love to have their say in the title race after taking two points from Philippe Clement’s light blues.

Celtic started the weekend in pole position after winning three and drawing one of their last four, with the spare a pulsating six-goal draw at Ibrox. The Hoops beat St Mirren 3-0 in Glasgow before eliminating Aberdeen from the Scottish Cup in penalties following another 3-3 finish.

The spot kicks were decided in sudden death, and Celtic sneaked through by the tightest of margins. After conceding six goals in three games so far this month, manager Brendan Rodgers knows his defence must improve.

Dundee have a dreadful record against Celtic heading into this renewal, but all the pressure is on the visitors, who know they must take all three points to give themselves the best chance of winning the league.

With the focus on the Hoops, Dundee can enjoy the day and play football without pressure, knowing they can drop no lower than sixth in the table. Fancy the locals to win? You can back Dundee at 17/2 with Betfred or try another draw at 11/2.

Other than that near miss against Aberdeen at the national stadium last week, Celtic have found their best form at an ideal time. They’re creating chances and scoring goals for fun, putting three past Rangers, St Mirren and Aberdeen. Another three goals and three points would suit fans just fine, but the defence needs to be stronger. Fancy Celtic to bank another away win and move closer to the title? Take the visitors at 1/4 with Betfred.

Celtic -1 handicap @ 8/11

Despite Dundee’s recent draw with Rangers at this venue, we’re backing Celtic to win and expect them to do it well. There’s little for followers of the away win to get excited about in the pre-game odds, especially if looking for a single, so we return to the specials. Back Celtic to win -1 goal on the handicap and hope this game lives up to the hype, producing a strong away win for the league leaders.

Backing Celtic -1 goal on the handicap would’ve landed you a profit in each of the previous three games involving these teams this season, including a stunning 7-1 win for the Bhoys earlier this year. In those three games, Celtic scored 13 goals and conceded just one, which gives bettors a good reason to be confident.

Celtic 3-0 @ 15/2

Looking for a pick at better odds? We’ll stick with the stats and back Celtic 3-0 in the correct score market at a tempting offer. Playing the correct score isn’t an easy way to make a profit, but the stats give us something solid to build on, and we’re happy to take a chance, as the potential prize is worth the risk.

Celtic have beaten Dundee 3-0 on two occasions already this season, including once at Dens Park on Boxing Day. The Hoops also netted three goals in each of their previous three games this month, while Dundee failed to score against Rangers and Aberdeen in their last two. Keep your stakes low and shoot for a winner at attractive odds.
