We’ve got a finally balanced Champions League qualifier for you on Wednesday night as Dinamo Minsk and Ludogorets Razgrad meet in Hungary (19:45). Uefa have a ban on Belarussian clubs playing at home so Mezokovesdi will play host for this clash which is finely poised as Ludogorets won the first leg 1-0.

Below you can find my Dinamo Minsk vs Ludogorets Razgrad predictions for this intriguing meeting.

Team News

Dmitriy Podstrelov and Fawaz Abdullahi were both missing from their squad for the first leg last week, having recently arrived in the transfer window while fellow new boy Ruslan Chobanov did make the matchday squad but didn’t get onto the pitch.

Given he scored a hat-trick against Dynamo Brest last month, Karen Vardany could well come into the starting XI with Dinamo Minsk in need of some goals. Vadim Skripchenko will hope to find an extra spark from his XI, and they need to score to keep themselves alive in the Champions League.

Dinamo Minsk vs Ludogorets Razgrad Stats

  • Ludogorets won the first leg 1-0
  • Dinamo Minsk have lost four of their last five games

Meanwhile Ludogorets are without Georgi Terziev and Joel Andersson through injury. Aguibou Camara will have to be monitored after his knock but it looks as though Pedro Naressi is back available to feature having missed the tail end of the last campaign.

Goalscorer from the first leg Filip Kaloc arrived from Kaiserslautern for over £2m, and has made an immediate impact with that late winner in the first leg.

Dinamo Minsk vs Ludogorets Razgrad Odds

Dinamo Minsk are priced at 10/3 to win this game on neutral soil, with Ludogorets the favourites at 4/6. That means the nominal away side have an implied win probability of 60% for this away game, while a draw which would also take them through is 13/5.

Over 2.5 goals is 5/6, BTTS is the same price and the home side are 18/5 to be leading at half-time.

Ludogorets Razgrad to win @ 4/6

They may have left it late in the first leg, but Ludogorets should be able to put in a more comprehensive display here. Let’s not forget, these two met in the second-qualifying round of this competition last season, winning 2-1 on aggregate and these two are well-matched.

However, I am going to back the Bulgarians to get the job done by winning this away leg. They are in the middle of their summer break so probably needed a game to shake off the cobwebs, whereas Dinamo Minsk are in the middle of their season and slightly fitter right now.

However, Skripchenko’s team have been in poor form and have now lost four of their last five matches. They’ve only beaten 10-man Dynamo Brest during this run and the title looks to have slipped away from them - while they also won’t have the benefit of playing at their home stadium. Ludogorets meanwhile, are one of the strongest teams who have entered the first round of qualifying, given they haven’t missed a group stage/league phase football since 2015.

Under 2.5 goals @ 5/6

Including friendlies, Ludogorets have only scored two goals in their last four games and they don’t feel like a side that will come out all guns blazing given they hold a one-goal lead. I think they are the stronger team and will employ a strategy that sees them limit the chances of their hosts and try to nick a goal on the break.

Dinamo Minsk are on a poor run and five of their last seven games have seen under 2.5 goals so I think I’m comfortable backing this to be a low-scoring second leg.
