Crystal Palace vs West Ham

Crystal Palace welcome West Ham United to Selhurst Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (15:00), looking to build on last week's excellent victory over Liverpool at Anfield. The Eagles ended a run of three-straight draws and will be hoping to have turned a corner after their triumph on Merseyside.

West Ham tasted defeat against Fulham last weekend and this was followed by their exit from the Europa League at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. David Moyes and his players have now got to try and finish the season on a high but they find themselves two points adrift of Newcastle United in sixth. Below I have laid out my Crystal Palace vs West Ham predictions.

Crystal Palace vs West Ham Betting Tips

  • Crystal Palace to win @ 23/20
  • Jean-Philippe Mateta to score anytime @ 7/4

Match Odds

Crystal Palace are 23/20, or a 46.5% chance to grab the the three points on Sunday. West Ham are valued at 23/10, implying a 30.3% probability, while the draw can be backed at 5/2 (28.6%).

Both teams to score is priced at 8/13 and over 2.5 goals is 8/11. West Ham's Jarrod Bowen has scored 15 goals in the Premier League this season, he is 23/10 to score anytime at Selhurst Park.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has scored 10 goals in all competitions for Palace and he is 7/4 to score anytime against the Hammers.

Team News

Despite the huge win at Liverpool last week, Palace have suffered a blow as Jefferson Lerma picked up an injury and has been ruled out for the Hammers clash. He joins Sam Johnstone, Cheick Doucoure, Matheus Franca and Marc Guehi in the treatment room.

Will Hughes and Joel Ward will be assessed ahead of kick-off, while Rob Holding and Chris Richards could be fit to feature.

As for West Ham, Kalvin Phillips, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Alphonse Areola are out injured, and Nayef Aguerd is also a doubt to make the squad. They will be boosted by the returns of Emerson Palmieri and Lucas Paqueta after the duo were suspended from taking part in their Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday.

Crystal Palace to win @ 23/20

Confidence will be high in the Eagles' camp after last week's heroics, while West Ham will be downbeat after a disappointing week at home and in Europe. I'm expecting there to be some tired legs among the Hammers' ranks while Palace have enjoyed a nice week off to prepare for this weekend's fixture.

There is no denying that both sides have struggled for consistency throughout the campaign but if the hosts play as they did at Anfield, I'm sure they can frustrate West Ham and collect another three points. A victory here would surely pull them away from the relegation conversation and boss Oliver Glasner will want to finish the season strongly.

Crystal Palace to win at 23/20

Jean-Philippe Mateta to score anytime @ 7/4

Since Glasner arrived in south London in February, one player who has benefitted the most from his appointment is forward Mateta. The Frenchman has scored four goals in seven league appearances under the German coach, having only managed three in his previous 22.

He has been in excellent form recently and his game looks to have reached another level since the managerial change. He is playing with more confidence and showing composure in front of goal, so he is primed to cause West Ham's fragile defence all sorts of problems this weekend.

I think his goalscoring trend will continue on home soil on Sunday and I feel as though 7/4 offers great value for it to happen too.
