Team News

Crystal Palace are going to have to deal with the loss of defender Joachim Andersen, who has departed the Eagles for Fulham, who he once had a loan spell with. This could force Oliver Glasner to alter his shape to a back four, or it will present an opportunity for summer signing Chadi Riad to make his Premier League debut.

Glasner could hand Cheick Doucoure a start in place of Will Hughes but the likes of Jean-Phillipe Mateta, Eberechi Eze and Daichi Kamada should keep their places in attack.

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui could hand first starts to summer arrivals Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka following their opening day defeat to Aston Villa.

Draw and both teams to score @ 16/5

Both teams head into this fixture having lost on the opening weekend, and they will want to make amends here. I think there are strong aspects to both their squads but at the moment, their defences are looking vulnerable, and for Palace, Andersen's exit won't help.

That is why I think we might see the two teams cancel each other out. The Eagles were soaring at the back end of last season but they were not firing against the Bees. Their goal in that defeat came via an own goal, so Glasner will want his team to officially get off the mark this weekend.

West Ham's defence looked suspect against Villa and that looks like something that will improve over time. So this is something that last year's top scorer Mateta will be looking to capitalise on.

The Hammers need to improve their attacking threat, and that is why we could see the likes of Fullkrug and Summerville handed their first starts at Selhurst Park. I think that the attacking players can cancel each other out so I am backing a draw and both teams to score.

Draw and btts at 16/5 Over 3.5 goals @ 7/4

These two teams both conceded two goals in their opening league match and over 2.5 goals was a winning selection for both fixtures. I think we can go one step further this weekend with over 3.5.

Neither side looks convincing at the back currently, which is expected when the season is in its infancy, but they both have quality attacking players who can make things happen, which has me believing that this clash will be filled with goals.

With the selection I made above, I envisaged a 2-2 scoreline, which I think is fair given the talent on offer for this contest.
