Chelsea welcome Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon (15:00) looking to avoid three consecutive Premier League defeats.

The Blades, however, secured a vital win last time out, against a injury-hit Brentford.

  • Both teams to score @ EVS
  • Over 2.5 goals @ 1/2

Team News

Chelsea’s injury list is growing again with Reece James and Marc Cucurella joining fellow defenders Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Malo Gusto on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Noni Madueke, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka, Robert Sanchez and Christopher Nkunku all remain unavailable.

As for the Blades, Chris Basham, John Egan, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Tom Davies, Daniel Jebbison and Rhian Brewster are unavailable due to injury while Jack Robinson is suspended. However, Oli McBurnie and Oliver Norwood will return from suspensions of their own.

Match Odds

Chelsea are 2/9 to claim the three points, while Sheffield United are 12/1 to upset the Blues here, and the draw is 5/1.

Nicolas Jackson is favourite to score anytime at 21/20, while he's 7/2 to open the scoring and 18/5 to be the last goalscorer.

Mauricio Pochettino will know that Chelsea are conceding far too many goals at the moment. The Blues have shipped 15 goals in their last six - more than any other Premier League side in that timeframe.

However, apart from firing a blank at Goodison Park last weekend, Poch's side have had no issues finding the back of the net, scoring 13 times in their last dozen games, a tally bettered by only Fulham and Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United have scored the fewest goals in the division and conceded the most, but the win against Brentford last week will give them a glimmer of hope that they can turn the season around. In addition, the Blades will believe that they can breach a Chelsea backline that haven't kept a clean sheet in their last nine league outings.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1/2

This bet has landed in five of Chelsea's last six Premier League fixtures, and although Sheffield United aren't renowned for being a team full of goals, they have produced some high-scoring games this season.

The Blades conceded five to both Arsenal and Burnley, while their defeat against Bournemouth produced four goals, and with Chelsea being unable to keep clean sheets, the goals could rack up here.

Admittedly, Sheffield United have managed over 1.5 goals just once in 37 Premier League away matches, but there appears to be signs of improvement under Chris Wilder, and as mentioned above, this Chelsea team know where the back of the net is, giving this bet a decent chance of landing.
