Chelsea tasted success in the Conference League this season, and they also qualified for next season’s Champions League, so Enzo Maresca will be pleased heading to the Club World Cup. His side are in this competition because they won the Champions League in 2021, and the qualification period runs over the four years leading into the Club World Cup.

But after a positive end to the season, below you can find my Chelsea Fifa Club World Cup 2025 predictions as I assess their chances this summer.

Club World Cup Team Betting Predictions - Chelsea

  • Outright Winner @ 10/1
  • Reach the Final @ 9/2
  • Reach the Semi-Finals @ 9/4
  • Reach the Quarter-Finals @ 8/11
  • To Win Group B @ 4/9

Group B: Chelsea, Leon, Flamengo, ES Tunis

Fixtures: Chelsea vs Leon (June 16, 20:00 BST), Flamengo vs Chelsea (June 20, 19:00 BST), ES Tunis vs Chelsea (June 25, 02:00 BST).

This feels like a major opportunity for Chelsea, especially when you look at their group. They should be able to cruise through even with rotation, and you have to feel that their big squad may now help them at the end of the season.

Maresca came under severe pressure earlier in the campaign but he has silenced the doubters with a good run of results recently, including that European final success over Real Betis. There have also been wins over champions Liverpool, Manchester United and that vital final day win at Nottingham Forest to boot, so confidence will be high that they can do something special in the United States of America.

Club World Cup 2025 Odds

Given their recent spending, the prize money of £97m would help them out as they bid to challenge for the Premier League title next term. Discussions on how seriously clubs will take this competition have been rife ever since it was announced but I think Chelsea will be going all out to secure the first expanded Club World Cup title.

Maresca deserves major credit for the way he has streamlined a squad that was wildly bloated in the summer and although we can expect a couple of new additions over the summer in key positions, they do look as though they can compete in the top four yet again.

Player to watch: Cole Palmer

I’ve tried to stay away from the obvious picks in other previews I’ve done for this competition, but there is no avoiding it with Chelsea. Cole Palmer is not only their best player by a mile, but he is on track to become one of the world’s best players if he keeps up his current rise.

He’s now 23, and many criticised his move to Stamford Bridge two years ago, but he has risen above the noise to become the biggest success story of Chelsea’s outlandish transfer policy. His individual numbers weren’t quite as high this season as they were during his crazy 23/24 campaign, as his Premier League goals dropped from 22 to 15, but that’s still a wonderful return for a young player under a new manager.

His influence on this team is what stands out to me however, and that’s more than just based on the numbers that he puts up. Palmer is the man Chelsea look for when they are in a sticky situation, and more often than not, he will produce that moment of magic that turns the game arond.

Just look at the Conference League final, when his side were 1-0 down. He got on the ball, and floated an inch-perfect ball into the path of Enzo Fernandez for the midfielder to head in. He just makes things happen. If Chelsea are to go far in the Club World Cup - it will be down to Palmer.

Chelsea to reach the quarter-finals @ 8/11

I’m expecting Chelsea to win their group, and they are a short price to do so. It’s also important that they finish top as Bayern Munich are likely to win Group C and will be the last 16 opponents of whoever finished second in Chelsea’s Group D.

That should be relatively straightforward, while the last 16 fixture against either Boca Juniors, Benfica or outsiders Auckland City should work in the favour too. As long as both Bayern and Chelsea win their groups as expected, I think the Blues should have no problem in cruising through into the last eight. They may come up short against some of the big guns later on, but they should get into the latter stages of this Club World Cup.
