Swansea vs Stoke Prediction: Will Cannon fire again in Wales?

Swansea fell to a 1-0 defeat at Bramall Lane in midweek and they return to Wales to host a Stoke outfit that stunned us all on Wednesday night. After two tepid performances under new manager Narcis Pelach, they went and thumped Portsmouth 6-1, with forward Tom Cannon scoring four.
They will be reinvigorated heading across the border for this 15:00 kick-off on Saturday, and below you can find my Swansea vs Stoke predictions.
Team News
Swansea’s back four seems relatively settled, with Josh Tymon expected to start at left-back despite his own goal last time out. Ben Cabango and Harry Darling are a reliable duo at the heart of the defence, but Luke Williams may switch things up further forward. Zan Vipotnik could start up top, while I’d also expect Goncalo Franco to come back into midfield to provide more control.
Stoke meanwhile are unlikely to tinker with the side that took Pompey to the cleaners on Wednesday. Sam Gallagher and Cannon combined wonderfully up top to cut through the defence, while Michael Rose and Ben Gibson are building a decent relationship at the back. André Vidigal is likely to have to settle for a spot on the bench again.
Swansea are priced at 23/20 to win this game and Stoke are available at 2/1. A draw can be backed at 23/10, over 2.5 goals is 5/6 and BTTS is 8/11.
Draw @ 23/10
Now I’m not usually one to back a draw in these pieces, but I think these are two evenly-matched outfits who are likely to end up between 10th and 16th in the table come May. I’m not going to get too carried away with Stoke’s six goals in midweek, even though it will clearly give them a confidence boost before this one.
Instead, I will assess the two teams on paper, and in my eyes, there isn’t a lot to choose between them. They both possess experienced Championship centre-backs, and I think this could be a tight game, while Stoke possibly edge the two attacks when we compare them. Pelach seemed to get them going in midweek but I don’t want to get too carried away with that performance against a poor Pompey side, given they failed to impress in the two games prior to that. I’ll instead plump for the spoils to be shared in Wales.

Tom Cannon anytime scorer @ 13/5
Although I don’t think this will be a particularly thrilling game, I will back Cannon to find the net. It’s amazing what confidence can do for a striker and he will be on cloud nine having scored four times on Wednesday night. In doing so, he has established himself as Stoke’s first-choice forward, and I think he will be firing shots away at the Swansea goal when opportunities present themselves.
The fact we are getting 13/5 on him to find the net once just days after he scored four just feels like too big a price at this stage. I’m more than happy to get on board and hope that Cannon is firing again on Saturday afternoon.
