Birmingham vs Wrexham Prediction: Third consecutive draw on the cards

Sunday's supplement of Championship football comes from St. Andrew's as Birmingham City take on Wrexham (12:00 BST, Sky Sports Main Event). Both clubs have lofty ambitions but Wrexham are the only ones still in a real chance of reaching the play-offs.

Alex Cochrane (ankle) and Kai Wagner (shoulder) remain sidelined for Birmingham, while Paik Seung-ho (knock) will need to be assessed ahead of Sunday.

Jay Stansfield and August Priske showed a glimpse of what the future might hold for Birmingham's attack at Ipswich Town last time out, and the pair could partner each other up top again.

Zak Vyner might be in contention to come into the Wrexham side in place of Nathan Broadhead, as Phil Parkinson looks to put the pieces of his team back together following Tuesday's humiliation.

Each of the past two meetings have gone under 2.5 goals, which is valued at 1/1 for Sunday.

Neither side is in great form coming into this. They may have been beaten on Monday but Birmingham looked more organised against Ipswich. Their play-off dream seems a distant memory now but they can still impact the top-six race.

Wrexham are now two points outside the play-offs and four defeats from seven has left them weak ahead of the final five matches, especially when Southampton have a game in hand.

The Red Dragons may be feeling vulnerable after their defeat on the South Coast, so this may present an opportunity for Birmingham to get back on the winning trail.

However, Wrexham will be fired up to conjure up an immediate response to keep themselves within touching distance of the top six. The past two meetings between these clubs have ended level, and I can see this trend continuing on Sunday.

Since the beginning of last season, when they were both in League 1, all three clashes between Birmingham and Wrexham have seen both teams score. I am confident that this will be another winning selection on Sunday, particularly as the Red Dragons have seen this bet land in each of their four most recent outings in the Championship.

For the Blues, there have been goals at both ends in two of their previous four fixtures in the league, including last time out at Ipswich.
