Championship Accumulator Tips: Birmingham can get huge win at Rotherham

There are just three games to go in the Championship and much is left to be decided at both ends of the table. There are 11 games on offer in the second tier on Saturday and you may be wondering who is worth backing this weekend with some crunch clashes taking place.

This is where I am here to help and I've picked out four games to build a results accumulator that pays out at the attractive price of 10/1. Below I have detailed my Championship accumulator tips.

Championship Accumulator Tips

  • Southampton to beat Cardiff City @ 2/5
  • Birmingham City to beat Rotherham United @ 8/15
  • Draw in Stoke City vs Plymouth Argyle @ 23/10
  • Norwich City to beat Bristol City @ 8/13

Southampton to beat Cardiff City @ 2/5

As the Championship title race draws to a thrilling conclusion, you have to feel that momentum is with Southampton. As their rivals have been dropping points in recent matches, the Saints have been capitalising with victories.

They are five points behind leaders Ipswich Town but do have a game in hand. With the way that they are playing right now, the title is realistic for them.

Russell Martin's side cruised to a 3-0 win over Preston North End last time out and we think they should have no issues beating Cardiff City in south Wales this weekend. The Bluebirds are one of a few clubs in the second tier who no longer have anything to play for. They cannot go up and they cannot go down.

The onus will be on the Saints and I'm backing them to win this one comfortably.

Birmingham City to beat Rotherham United @ 8/15

Birmingham City posted a surprising 3-0 victory over former tenants Coventry City at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park last week to give themselves some life in their bid for survival.

They still only remain a point above the drop zone, however, so they will be gunning for three points at already-relegated Rotherham United on Saturday. The Millers have reappointed former boss Steve Evans from Stevenage, who will take charge of his first game against the Blues. But it shouldn't make a difference to Gary Rowett's side. If they play how they did against Coventry, they should win this one comfortably.

Draw in Stoke City vs Plymouth Argyle @ 23/10

Two teams that are not completely out of relegation trouble just yet are Stoke City and Plymouth Argyle, and they lock horns at the bet 365 Stadium on Saturday. Stoke are three points above the drop zone and Argyle are four clear, so this game is important to both clubs as a defeat could throw them back into the mix.

Both teams have struggled for consistency throughout the season so I'm backing them to draw here. Stoke have drawn three of their last five, while Plymouth have managed to pick up two wins. At Home Park, I probably would've leaned towards the Pilgrims, but the fact that this is being played in the Potteries, I think Stoke will have what it takes to dig in and get a result.

Norwich City to beat Bristol City @ 8/13

Norwich City look more and more likely to finish in the play-offs with each passing game. The Canaries are six points clear of Hull City in seventh, but the Tigers do have a game in hand. Norwich will want to ensure they maintain their current advantage with a victory at home to Bristol City this weekend, which I think is achievable.

The Robins are one of a few clubs in the second tier with nothing still left to play for. They cannot make a run for the play-offs, nor can they be relegated. I'm sure they will already be thinking about their plans for the summer to make them more competitive next term.

They may be unbeaten in their last five but the fact that Norwich have something still to fight for makes me think that this will be evident on the pitch, so I'm backing them to seal an important win.
