Real Madrid vs Juventus Prediction: Back Mbappe to score yet again

Only six teams have a 100% record through two matches of the Champions League so far this campaign and there is no surprise that one of them is Real Madrid. The Spanish giants face-off against one of the biggest teams in Europe on Wednesday night but the odds suggest that this may be a one-sided encounter.
We've asked our La Liga Betting expert to preview this one and he's put together his thoughts and top betting tips below. You can check out his Real Madrid vs Juventus Predictions here on Betfred Insights...

Match Preview:
Two European giants meet at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, with Real Madrid taking on Juventus in the Champions League.
The hosts are hoping to underline their credentials as serious contenders to win the competition with another victory. They've won 10 out of 11 overall this term, including both of their European fixtures.
Despite a Dani Carvajal red card, Real Madrid dug deep to see off Marseille 2-1 on matchday one in the Champions League, with two Kylian Mbappé penalties the difference between the teams. It was a more comfortable evening in Kazakhstan a fortnight later, with Mbappé scoring three more in the 5-0 rout of Kairat.
Los Blancos do still have Liverpool and Manchester City to play in this competition before the end of the year, but they can take a big step towards securing a top-eight finish by defeating Juve on home soil this week.
They've beaten Villarreal and Getafe in La Liga since their last European engagement. Their short weekend trip to the Coliseum proved to be a frustrating affair, with Xabi Alonso's side missing some good chances before Arda Güler set up Mbappé for the game's only goal in the 80th minute.
Those two have developed a brilliant understanding, in one of the main positives so far this term for Real Madrid. Güler has grown into the main creative force in this side, and it's going to be interesting to see how Alonso sets his team up in this match and in Sunday's Clásico, with Jude Bellingham also now fully fit.
Real Madrid beat Juventus 1-0 as recently as July at the Club World Cup. The Italians are clearly still a shadow of their former selves, and head into this match having failed to win any of their last six games in all competitions.
Five of those fixtures did finish level, including their opening Champions League games against Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal. There were 12 goals scored across those two encounters, including eight in a remarkable second half against the German side in their opening match, which ended 4-4.
However, it'd be a stretch to say Juve have become a really entertaining side to watch. They've created under two xG in all of their fixtures since a 2-0 win over Parma on the opening weekend in Serie A. Igor Tudor's side head to the Spanish capital on the back of a goalless draw against Milan, followed by a 2-0 weekend defeat against Cesc Fàbregas' Como.
Like their opponents, Juventus have a talented young Turkish player who is making a big impression. 20-year-old Kenan Yıldız has been their standout performer this term, with two goals and four assists in all competitions. However, he's not had much help on the creative front, with the supply line to their new striker Jonathan David often quite limited.
Team News:
Real Madrid have been dealt a boost heading into this match, with Trent Alexander-Arnold training again, although Alonso has suggested he may not be ready to take on Juventus. Dani Carvajal is also nearing fitness, but won't be involved on Wednesday in any case due to a suspension.
Dean Huijsen, Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are additional defensive injury doubts, while Antonio Rüdiger is not expected back before December. Güler and Vinícius Júnior should both rotate into the side having only featured off the bench at the weekend.
As for Juventus, Brazilian defender Bremer is their most significant injury absentee. Carlo Pinsoglio and Juan Cabal will also miss this game. Fabio Miretti and Edon Zhegrova both returned to training this week and could potentially be involved in some capacity.

Match Odds:
Real Madrid are the 4/9 favourites to make it 11 wins out of 12 in all competitions. The Draw is priced at 18/5, while you back Juventus to win at the Bernabéu at odds of 6/1.
If you're expecting goals in this one, you can back Both teams to score at 4/5, while Over 3.5 goals is on offer at 6/4. The hosts are priced at 21/20 to score in both halves, while you can back Real Madrid to score over 2.5 goals across the 90 minutes at odds of 6/4.
Juventus, who have scored six times already in the competition, are on offer at 11/4 to score over 1.5 goals at the Bernabéu. You can also back them at 11/5 to win either half.
Mbappé is the obvious choice in the goalscorer markets, but there are plenty of other home players who should pose a threat. Vinícius is priced at 9/2 to score first, and 11/8 to score anytime, while you can back Bellingham to register his first goal of the season at odds of 11/5.
David ought to lead the line again for Juve. The Canadian scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory for Lille over Real Madrid in last season's Champions League, and he's priced at 8/1 to score first, and 13/5 to score anytime.

Real Madrid vs Juventus Stats
- Real Madrid have a perfect record so far in the Champions League - with two wins from two.
- Juventus have been involved in two high-scoring draws so far - 2-2 and 4-4.
- They have 17 Champions League/European Cup wins between them - Real have won it 15 times with Juventus twice.
Bet 1 - Real Madrid to win & Under 3.5 goals @ 13/10
Punters may be drawn to the high-scoring nature of Juve's opening two Champions League matches, and conclude that we may get a repeat here. However, that may not be the case, with the Italians likely to set up in a conservative fashion. They've only scored four goals in their last five matches in all competitions since that 4-4 thriller against Dortmund.
Real Madrid have been quite solid defensively this term, with one very obvious exception. Aside from their 5-2 loss in the derby against Atlético, they've let in just 0.5 goals per game on average.
Their attacking play has improved, but there's still some work to be done in terms of getting all of their stars in sync and firing together. I can see them doing a professional job here, but I'm not expecting a big home victory, and I'm backing Real Madrid to win and Under 3.5 goals at 13/10.

Bet 2 - Kylian Mbappé to score anytime @ 8/11
This Real Madrid side is now almost entirely set up to serve Mbappé, who is thriving on the responsibility of being the focal point of the attack. The Frenchman wasn't at his most clinical at the weekend, only converting with one of his seven attempts, but it was enough to clinch three more points for his team.
He has already scored 15 goals for Los Blancos this season in all competitions, at a strike rate of one every 64 minutes. Alonso is yet to rest his striker, and is unlikely to do so here, particularly given Mbappé only featured in one of France's two matches over the recent international break.
The 26-year-old has scored at least once in each of his last 11 matches for club and country. That record alone suggests there's value in backing Mbappé to score anytime at 8/11.
