Football Odds

PSG to win

When it comes down to it, the current holders of the Champions League look to be a far stronger outfit than Liverpool right now. PSG look like they are improving as the end of the season draws closer, with a four-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 now.

Chelsea were pushed aside in the last round of the UCL, as PSG ran out 8-2 winners on aggregate, and with their attacking force I cannot see them being kept out by Liverpool. A 4-0 hammering at the hands of Manchester City in the FA Cup at the weekend told us what we all already know, that this Liverpool team is a shadow of the one we saw last term.

PSG should be licking their lips ahead of this first leg.

PSG vs Liverpool Odds

Ousmane Dembele to score

PSG’s main man and the current Ballon d’Or holder has had an on and off season in terms of injuries and illness, but he is getting back into the groove of things now. The French forward has still managed to rack up 14 goals and eight assists in 30 apperances across all competitions this term, and he scored in the 5-2 home win over Chelsea in the last round.

He also scored twice in Friday night’s win over Toulouse and looks to be improving in terms of fitness and finishing every week - as the business end of the season comes around. I think he will fancy his chances against this weak Liverpool defence - who were exposed once again at the weekend.

Vitinha to get an assist

Vitinha is the beating heart of this PSG side and the key midfielder has been reliable through this season, playing 42 times for the Parisians in all competitions. It feels as though PSG will try and dominate the midfield in this game, with the Portuguese magician likely to conjure up some magic at some stage or another.

With the powerful runners at the top end of the pitch, I think Vitinha is a good shout to add to the 10 assists he has posted in all comps - making him PSG’s leading creator this term.

Alexis Mac Allister 2+ fouls

Alexis Mac Allister is likely to start in Liverpool’s midfield and I think if he does start, he is going to be the man to try and stop this incredible PSG side. The Argentine has got a combative side to him, making 44 tackles in the Premier League this season.

He’s also had 203 ground duels this term and made 23 fouls in the league - being booked on five occasions. He’s going to have to be pretty destructive if Liverpool are going to get anything here, so I’ll back him to make 2+ fouls against the French giants.
