The defending champions make the trip to Merseyside knowing they perhaps should have put the tie to bed last week after dominating throughout, but Liverpool still have a chance to launch a comeback.
PSG staged a comeback of their own at Anfield on their way to winning the title last season after losing the first leg at home. They also have a fantastic recent record against Premier League teams and are unbeaten in six meetings this season, with four wins, including their Uefa Super Cup success against Tottenham.
I’ve put together a 18/1 fourfold ahead of Tuesday’s game, focusing on the player markets rather than the result.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Total Shots on Target 2+
PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored in the first leg and may be able to follow that up with a goal at Anfield, but the better angle could be backing at least two shots on target for the Georgian forward.
Kvaratskhelia averages 3.3 shots per game in the Champions League for the season, with exactly one per game on target, but he’s upped his work rate in the knockout stages. The former Napoli man has had 23 attempts across PSG’s five knockout games so far, including seven shots with two on target in the first leg.
Alexis Mac Allister Total Shots on Target 1+
Liverpool have to be more adventurous if they are to stand any chance of fighting back in this tie and midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is a candidate to record a shot on target.
The Argentina international averages 0.7 shots on target per game from 1.8 attempts in total in this competition. The Reds only managed three shots in total in the first leg and they have to better that significantly on Tuesday, although Mac Allister did have one of those attempts.
Virgil van Dijk Total Fouls Committed 2+
This is a bit of an outside selection, but a strong case can be made for two or more fouls for Virgil van Dijk. The Liverpool skipper averages over one foul per game in the Champions League, and he’s committed multiple infringements in three of his last four appearances at Anfield in this competition.
Florian Wirtz Total Shots on Target 1+
Florian Wirtz may have struggled for goals in Europe with just one in 10 games, but he has been getting chances. The Germany international averages exactly two shots per game in the Champions League and 0.8 per game on target.
Wirtz managed one attempt last week in the French capital without testing the keeper but he may get a few more opportunities in the return fixture and he can at least record one shot on goal.
