Club Brugge vs Arsenal Prediction: Gunners to maintain their winning record

Arsenal couldn't have asked for a better start in the Uefa Champions League. They have won all five games in the league phase so far and up next for them is a trip to Belgium to face Club Brugge on Wednesday (20:00 GMT, TNT Sports 2).

The hosts find themselves two points outside the play-off spots in the standings with just four points to date. Read on for my Club Brugge vs Arsenal predictions, featuring the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Club Brugge are sweating over the fitness of first-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet (overstretching) and Nordin Jackers (rib fracture), with both players absent from the weekend defeat to St Truiden.

Zaid Romero (back), midfield duo Lynnt Audoor (muscle), Ludovit Reis (shoulder) and Romeo Vermant (concussion) are also confined to the medical bay for the hosts.

Football Odds

Arsenal's injury crisis in defence was recently worsened as Cristhian Mosquera picked up an ankle injury against Brentford last week, and he is set to be out of action for a few weeks, along with Gabriel Magalhaes (thigh).

William Saliba has missed the last couple of games with a knock but Mikel Arteta might preserve him in the hopes that he can return to action against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

Riccardo Calafiori was seen limping in Saturday's defeat at Aston Villa so he could be a doubt for this midweek clash, too. Kai Havertz (knee) is the only other player ruled out.

Brugge are 17/2 to win this clash but they have won just once in five attempts in the league phase and Arsenal have won every fixture they have played so far.

The Gunners are 1/3 to come out on top but better value can be found in backing them to win to nil 23/20 (implied probability of 46.5%), which has been the outcome in four of their five European outings to date.

Brugge have collected one draw in this competition in 2025/26 and the stalemate is priced at 9/2.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has scored four goals across his last four appearances in the UCL and he is 9/5 to strike anytime on Wednesday.

Arsenal have been brilliant in Europe so far and I am expecting that to continue against Brugge on Wednesday. The Gunners have a lot of quality in attacking areas so they should have more than enough firepower to see off a side that has conceded 13 goals in this competition so far.

After suffering late heartache at Villa Park at the weekend, increasing pressure on themselves in the title race, Arsenal will look to let out their frustrations in Belgium with a convincing victory.

Arteta is likely to make some changes across the XI but he will still have plenty of talented individuals to call upon in reserve. The Gunners are riding a wave of momentum in the Champions League and I can't see it being stopped by a team that has managed just one win so far.

However, the hosts can certainly make this an interesting fixture, as they did score three goals here against Barcelona last month, as well as fire four past Monaco earlier in the campaign.

Arsenal have lost the security which centre-backs Gabriel and Saliba provide, and with just one clean sheet in their last six outings in all competitions, adding BTTS - Yes to this selection should be of good value.

Anytime Goalscorer - Mikel Merino @ 13/8

I correctly tipped Arsenal's Mikel Merino to find the net against Slavia Prague on matchday four, and he went one better and bagged a brace. The Spaniard was filling in up top for Viktor Gyokeres that day so his involvement on Wednesday is likely to come from his more natural position of midfield.

However, I still think he's worth backing to get on the scoresheet because he does often find himself in good positions around the edge of the box to let shots fly. Then we must also not forget how much Arsenal love set-pieces and crosses, and Merino poses a huge threat from these situations.

The Spain international has five goals across all competitions this season for the Gunners, and I think he has a shot of adding to his tally against a leaky Club Brugge side.
