Borussia Dortmund vs Inter Milan Prediction: Go for goals at Signal Iduna Park

Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan both have a chance of breaking into the top eight of the Uefa Champions League table on Wednesday when they meet at Signal Iduna Park (20:00 GMT, discovery+).

Both teams were beaten by London clubs last week as they played against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, respectively. They will seek responses here, with this being their last chance to gain an automatic pass to the last 16. Team News

Dortmund's Daniel Svensson must serve a suspension following his dismissal at Tottenham last week, so Ramy Bensebaini may move from the left centre-back position to wing-back.

Aaron Anselmino has returned to parent club Chelsea, so the Black and Yellows are looking a little light in defensive areas. Niklas Sule (back) and Marcel Sabitzer (calf) are ruled out through injury.

Julian Brandt and Serhou Guirassy have both netted three goals in the league phase, and both are set to link up in attack once again.

Football Odds

Inter duo Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Manuel Akanji return to their old stomping ground, and both are likely to feature in midfield and defence, respectively, for the Nerazzurri.

Boss Cristian Chivu is still having to deal with injuries to energetic wing-back Denzel Dumfries (ankle) and Hakan Calhanoglu (calf).

The visitors are preparing to let Tomas Palacios go out on loan to Argentine side Estudiantes.

Marcus Thuram has failed to score in his last five UCL appearances, something he will look to change on Wednesday.

Dortmund are 15/8 (implied probability of 34.8%) to win this clash, having won two of their past three home appearances in the league phase.

The Black and Yellows have posted two draws and the stalemate here is valued at 5/2.

Inter are 13/10 to collect the three points, having won four of their seven UCL fixtures to date.

Dortmund's Guirassy is the favourite to score anytime at 11/8.

With both teams having much to play for in this final game of the league phase, it should make for an interesting battle at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund have the home advantage and they should fancy themselves against Inter as they have lost just one of their 13 matches in all competitions this season.

Two of their three home games in the UCL so far have been victories. They scored four goals in each of those two wins against Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal, so they do have the firepower to hurt their Italian visitors.

Inter did win their first four Champions League matches but they have since lost three on the spin, so there may be a degree of vulnerability about them in Dortmund, but with what's on the line, the Nerazzurri will be pumped up for this game.

I am leaning towards a Dortmund victory but I wouldn't be too surprised if Inter were able to come away with a hard-fought point.

I think there is value to be had in covering over 3.5 goals on Wednesday because this has been a common trend for Dortmund in the UCL this season. Six of their seven games have seen four or more goals scored and in four of those fixtures the Black and Yellows have scored four times themselves.

For Inter, this has been a successful bet in two of their seven outings in this competition in 2025/26. One of them came away as they demolished Union Saint-Gilloise 4-0, while the latest was last week as they were beaten 3-1 at home to Arsenal.
