Team News

Jan Oblak could miss this game for the hosts, meaning that Juan Musso could be in line for his first European appearance of the season, having kept Getafe at bay last time out. Oblak could join Marcos Llorente and Robin Le Normand on the sidelines with the latter out with a knee issue.

Antoine Griezmann was rested over the weekend and will hope to partner Julian Alvarez up top, although Alexander Sorloth and Giacomo Raspadori are both pushing to be in the XI. 

Alvarez’s international teammate Lautaro Martinez will start up top for Inter Milan, and is set to make his 50th start in this competition. Marcus Thuram could partner him, while unfortunately for Cristian Chivu, Denzel Dumfries, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian are all absent.

Inter Milan have been faultless in this season’s Champions League, winning four out of four and conceding just one goal in the process. However, they were shaken by their city rivals last time out as AC Milan secured a vital 1-0 win that dropped Inter to fourth.

Meanwhile, Atleti have been incredible in front of their own fans, winning their last eight home matches on the bounce. Since losing to Arsenal in this competition, they have won five games in a row, and that loss to the Gunners is their only one in their last 11 in all competitions. Diego Simeone has a very strong team at his disposal here, and I’m more than happy to back the home side to end Inter’s winning run in Europe.
