Arsenal vs Sporting Bet Builder Tips: 5/1 for Gunners to edge through

Arsenal fans are sweating once again. They’ve failed to win either domestic cup competition and Manchester City are hunting them down in the Premier League, with the pair meeting this Sunday in what looks to be a gargantuan clash.

Arsenal to win or draw

Now I know that Arsenal are out of form and the pressure is building on Mikel Arteta, but they should be able to get the job done on Wednesday night. For this Bet Builder, I’m not going to back an Arsenal win on the night, as they only need a draw to progress, but I do think they will make it to the semi-final of the Champions League.

The Gunners won the first leg 1-0 and have put themselves in a fantastic position to qualify, so I think they will get the job done on Wednesday night with a win or draw.

Viktor Gyokeres to score

Viktor Gyokeres has hit four goals in his last five Premier League matches, while he also has four Championship League goals to his name this term. He’s had his fair share of criticism since joining from Sporting last summer, but he has delivered a decent number of goals  - 18 in total across all competitions. 

Arsenal should be able to find the net again in this one so I’m happy to back the striker to get on the scoresheet in our Bet Builder.

Arsenal were pretty positive and dominant in that first leg, and they won the corner count 4-3 away from home, so I would expect dominance to be even more apparent at the Emirates. They average 5.97 corners per game in the Premier League and only conced 3.19 per match, so if that continues in Europe, we should be on to a winner. 

Morten Hjulmand to be booked

The return of Morten Hjulmand should add some much-needed steel to Sporting’s midfield, after the Dane missed the first leg through suspension. He’s the captain and leader of this Sporting team, but he does love a yellow card, which is good news for our Bet Builder. 

He will play as the most defensive and aggressive midfielder for the away side and has already racked up 15 yellows in 40 appearances in all competitions. In the Champions League, he leads the way with five yellows in eight fixtures, so I’d expect him to add to that tally here.
