Celtic head into round ten of the season with their stats showing eight wins and one draw with 27 goals scored and three conceded.
Brendan Rodgers’ side sit on top of the league, are the division’s highest scorers, boast the best defence, and have already hammered rivals Rangers 3-0 in the Old Firm derby. Things are going well for the champions, and there looks to be more to come.
Dundee are the latest team tasked with stopping the Celtic Express train. But the visitors are down in eighth place in the Premiership, having won just two of their first nine games, scoring 14 goals but conceding 16.
Tony Docherty’s men lost 2-1 at home to St Johnstone on Saturday and have suffered defeat in four of their last five. Stopping the rot at Celtic Park will be no easy task.
It would be fair to say, the form of both teams this season explains why Celtic are the strong favourites to make home advantage count and add another three points to their already impressive tally.
The locals were last seen in action scoring an impressive 3-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday afternoon, a result achieved thanks to goals from Luke McCowan, Alistair Johnston, and Adam Idah. The home win is no more than 1/9 at Betfred.
Dundee boosted the confidence in their ranks with a recent 1-0 away win over Motherwell but failed to build on that when losing at home to St Johnstone. The Dee took the lead at Dens Park thanks to Simon Murray's goal in the opening 12 minutes of play.
The Saints had to wait until 64 minutes to get level when Graham Carey curled home an equaliser before Nicky Clarke scrambled in a late winner. Dundee trade at a heavyweight 22/1 to win, while the draw is more likely at odds of 8/1 with Betfred.
Converting all these prices into implied odds shows us that the traders think Celtic win this games nine times out of ten, with a 90% probability of emerging victorious. The draw is an 11% shot with the away win just having a 4% expectation of coming true.
Celtic to win both halves
Celtic have impressed this season, working everything off a strong start, with the attackers taking their chances. The pace-setters led Motherwell 1-0 at the break on Sunday and enjoyed a 2-0 advantage over Aberdeen at Celtic Park recently. They’ll go on the front foot early against a nervy Dundee and aim to take control.
The head-to-head stats show Celtic won 7-1 when Dundee were last in town, and a similar result on Wednesday would come as no surprise.
The odds prove there’s little point backing Celtic for a home win as a single, so we move into the specials. Back Celtic to win both halves at odds of 9/10, which will do a great job in your midweek accumulators.

The Bhoys beat Motherwell 3-0 at the weekend, while Dundee conceded three in a recent defeat to Kilmarnock. Back Celtic to add another win and chance the 3-0 correct score at odds of 11/2 with Betfred.
