Expect a party atmosphere in Glasgow this weekend as Celtic are confirmed Scottish Premiership 2023/24 champions following a thrilling campaign.

Brendan Rodgers’ side wrapped up the league at Rugby Park on Wednesday with a stunning 5-0 win over Kilmarnock, sending them six points clear with only three left to play for.

It was an impressive fightback by the Bhoys, who rallied late to pass Rangers and race ahead. A winning streak when it mattered most proved the difference.

St Mirren arrive at Parkhead aiming to spoil the party, but the team from Paisley knows they are in the firing line after seeing the Hoops dismantle Killie just three days ago.

The visitors will finish fifth in the table and have nothing to aim at here, with fourth-placed Kilmarnock eight points clear and Dundee lagging. The fear for away fans is their team now has one eye on the summer break.

Betfred traders quickly published their odds for Saturday’s match following Wednesday’s demolition at Rugby Park. There are no surprises in the betting, with Celtic the strong favourites to collect another three points and finish on a high.

The 2/9 about a home win shows how traders expect this game to play out, with the locals scoring a few goals and easing to a 29th win in 38 games.

All the pre-match focus is on the newly crowned Premiership champions as they prepare to lift a third league title in three years. That will allow St Mirren to prepare for this game free from media attention, but do they have what it takes to finish strong and defeat the champions?

It has been a fantastic season for the Saints, and fans will fancy them to celebrate by going on the front foot early and trying to catch their opponents by surprise. The away win is a stunning 12/1 at Betfred, with the draw 11/2.

Both teams to score @ 10/11

Our first pick is for both teams to score in what’s sure to be an emotional day at Parkhead for the home fans. Celtic were impressive in midweek when scoring five goals without reply against a Kilmarnock side that previously caused them problems this season.

The Hoops were direct and decisive, creating chances and scoring goals. They looked capable of adding to their tally every time they crossed the halfway line, and we should see something similar on Saturday afternoon.

The locals have a title to celebrate, but let’s not forget they also have a huge game against Rangers next week at Hampden in the final of the Scottish Cup and that will ensure Rodgers freshens things up throughout the game.

St Mirren scored against Celtic in four of their last seven meetings, including a 2-1 defeat here back in November.

Kyogo first goal @ 7/2

It’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers hands Kyogo Furuhashi a start on Saturday. He’ll want to rest his best players for the final with the Premiership already in the bag, but he must also keep his attackers sharp and ready for action. If Kyogo starts, we’re backing him to score.

The striker found the net in each of his last two games against St Mirren, including the opener in Paisley earlier this year. He also netted twice against Hearts here and is a great bet to enhance his tally by breaking the deadlock. Back Kyogo at fair odds.
